  1. Hi Guys, Has anyone out there built and flown one of these. Seriously tempted on this kit with a power 110 and 8s up the front but there's no reviews, likes dislikes etc out there. thanks
  2. Hi BEB, Yep thats the one. Lovely model , have a new pilot and cockpit kit to fit but no brave enough to lift the canopy as yet. As you say it flies lovely , smooth and scale.

  11. Has anyone had success in restoring a weak cell by discharging at 0.5amp until all cells are even and then balance charge at 0.5. Have recently tried this and all cells on my 4s 5000 mah 20c are now at 4.20. Not sure on the longevity on this but it appears to work
  12. Yes no probs, were holding a warbird day at our club on the 15/16 and there's a few ww2 making an appearance . Will post pics
  13. Hi, Yes its a lovely model and credit to Flightline for producing a nice scale rendition of the Spit , we are very lucky to have a well maintained strip and club house as well. Were hoping to have a warbird day on the 15/16th which i thought is BoB day but not sure , weather wise looks good for then .
  14. Maiden Spit y'day. Flew very nice very stable no issues. Decided to dump the recommended settings and go for tried and trusted approach , full movement on all surfaces with 60% expo dialed in. Worked a treat , lovely smooth roll out and lift with no vices. climbed out lovely even with a cross wind. Flies on rails all the way, loops rolls cubans . C of G was as per manual 90mm , balanced perfect with my zippy 2s +4s 5000mah 20c lipos right up front. A good 7-8 minutes is easy on tap and that with 18mth old lipos, drop 1/4 flaps with 3mm up ele dialed in and no pitch change just slowed a little and feathered for a greaser. Checked lipos and both at 52% so my newer fresher zippies should be better. A lovely model , looks the part and flies lovely low and banking. superb !!!!

  20. What's the general opinion on these flight wise. By all accts you need a few mm of up elevator for straight and level and if the flaps are dropped you need 5-10% up ele to compensate.
  21. Hi Chris, Kits coming along nicely, retracts are in but not opened up the wells as yet. Decided to change the front a little as the nose looks too long to me so carved out the cowl a little to allow it to go further back on the fus and reduced motor standoffs to 10mm. Had to re-trim cowl top portion to allow batt hatch removal but otherwise its not far off completion now . Will get some pics up later
  22. Hi Chris, Yes I'm expecting a decent swing on to the left but should be ok. Fast taxi trials will show highlight any probs. One thing that i think looks wrong is the nose looks too long and the wheels are too small. Did you opt for larger wheels on yours and re-work the wells ?
  23. Hi Chris , Thanks for the info above. My kits arrived safely with no issues at all. Servo wise I'm going to use mini hi torques which give the same power and speed but save on weight. The control surfaces are quite small so think it should be ok. Motor, esc and lipo I'm going with a pulso 4120/18 with a 60 amp esc powered by 2 x 3s 5000mah in series. I'm toying with idea of "spreading "the lipo weight around instead of 6s all lumped on one area. On my bench this combo gives me 1050w at 52 amps on a 14x7 prop so i reckon half throttle will give a spirited performance and not heat up or stress any component. Retracts i have 120 eflites to drop in which fit nicely and have a decent scale speed as well. The only thing i dislike is the shiny finish. Going to try some testors dull coat and see if it dulls it down a bit.
  24. Chris, Did you experience any change when the flaps or under cart was lowered (pitch up or down etc) thanks Andy
