  1. The length of a spar is 18.5 ins. Does that sound about right? I notice that there is a lot of wasted space on the drawings, so I will see if with a bit of juggling around it will all fit on the three boards. I am drawing it up in CAD , hopefully to laser cut.
  2. Is the size of the original pdf`s 20 x 30 ins each, that is what Acrobat Reader states. so that means one per foamboard. Six boards in total. If that is the case how was the cost of the airframe under £10 as stated in BMFA news?
  3. Sorted now. Used a CAD program and they seem to be the correct size. "2 to a foamboard, 3 boards in total. Eventually hope to cut on laser.
  4. Martin, Thanks for the plan link. have downloaded 6 pdf`s Cannot find any dimensions. Loading into Seif Draw they come out at 60 x 20 ins each pdf which is way to big. Larger than one sheet of foamboard, which is approx. 23 x 33 ins. Thought they might have been the correct size. The Flitest plans always had a scale ruler on the sheet. How did you get the correct size. Adrian
  5. Have been building foamboard models for some time now. Mainly from FliteTest plans. I was interested in the Me106 featured in the BMFA mag. Try as I might I cannot locate the plan. It is supposed to be in the forum, I have found all the build details but no plan. Have you a link you could post or maybe upload the plan.
  6. Thanks Chris, Lets hope we get some better weather this year Regards, Adrian
  7. Are the 4 fly ins usually hosted by the NLMFC at Baldock taking place this year? Have been unable to find any publicity announcements. The Scale event is normally at the beginning of June, but there is nothing in the events calendar in the latest R.C.M&E Adrian
  8. Are the templates for the Pilot Figure for the Flycatcher free plan in the August 2015 RCM&E still on the website or does anyone have a copy they could send me? I have the plan but the pilot was a download which I am unable to find. Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the quick replies. Ref. the answer from Denis, it is easy to assign a switch. The difficulty is setting a 3 way up for dual rates. I like the solution from Steve. Is it possible to give me a quick instruction for setting it up. I have been struggling with this problem for a couple of days and my brain is getting a bit fuddled, I`m seeing Aurora screens in my sleep Adrian
  10. When using the Glider model option the default for the throttle is a switch. No problem there if you want a straight on/off. How to you select dual rates on Switch "C" to give Off, 50% and 100% throttle settings? You cannot get individual switches in the D/R menu. I would think that this option is not impossible. The Manual is of no help at all
  11. Any ideas on the availability of a 40mm Fan for a 1.5mm shaft. Either push on or with an adaptor. It would appear that the GWS item is no longer available
  12. I paid £45 for the subscription which is the price quoted in RCM&E. This does not appear to be a discounted price. Once again I state that the Free Gift Offer is not stated as being New Subscribers Only!
  13. I have never had a problem with free gifts on renewal before, Have received several over the past years. To quote from the magazine subscription page. "Receive a free Prolux Heat Sealing Iron when you subscribe today" Nothing about new subscriptions only.
  14. Is there a problem with the Prolux heat sealing Iron offer that was published in the September RCM&E. I renewed my subs on the 3 Sept and never received the iron. Phoned this morning and was told that because of a "system upgrade" it could not be sorted until the 11 Oct Anyone any idea what is going on?
  15. If you wish to have a look at Ebay just type STYRODUR in the search bar
  16. Why didn`t I think of that? Worked a treat just had to reverse both servos. Sometimes I think brains just disconnect. Thanks.
  17. I have had the same problem with the pink foam. Used to use Wickes but they discontinued it a while back. Sold off all the stock at half price. Green Air Designs no longer supply foam. Their supply also dried up. You can buy a green foam from Ebay. This is as good as or maybe better than the pink. Problem is you need to buy in bulk.
  18. I am having a problem setting the elevons on the Aurora 9 radio. I have found the correct program but the problem is the ailerons are reversed. If I use the reverse aileron servo option it swaps the aileron/elevator channels. If I then reverse the elevator servo it reverts to the original problem. I cannot find any solution in the handbook or online. Anyone have any ideas. I set up a V tail recently and the servo reverse worked fine in that set up.
  19. I know this is an old topic, but tried today to find Lockstick Bond Clear Glue in 4 different Pound type stores without any luck. Did a google search and came up empty. It would seem that this adhesive is no longer available. Has anyone found another alternative to UHU Por at an affordable price?
  20. The motor I used was a 2826 1350kV outrunner. I fitted a 4 blade 6 x 3 prop. The only 6" four blade prop I could find. A Graupner item in pusher format. Just fit reversed and change direction of motor rotation. This configuration gave 60 Watts/lb The other problem I encountered building this model was the Depron wings. I had 2 attempts using Depron but could not keep them straight. They would be OK one day and by the next they had distorted. I gave up in the end and made them from 6mm balsa sheet. I put a curve in by wetting it and leaving it to dry pinned down over a former. These have stayed true. If I was going to use Depron again I would use a Carbon or Aluminium spar to solve the warping problem I am sorry to say that I have never got around to flying this model. The time or the weather have never been convenient, so it has joined the queue of about 10 other models waiting their maiden flight
  21. Just to let you know, the Internet loss was just a glitch. Nothing sinister. The workshop is in the wilds of Norfolk with no landline broadband of any use, so it relies on mobile technology. If you wish to phone it would be best on Tues. as there is nobody in the workshop Friday to Monday. Calls will be diverted during this period but not to anyone in the workshop to answer any technical queries. There have been a few problems of late but they will be resolved in the near future and it will be business as before. Regards, Adrian B
  22. I guess nobody else is attempting this model, or won`t admit it.
  23. Is anybody building this model from the free plan in the Nov. RCM&E This is an all Depron model and seems fairly straight forward. There appears to be a couple of errors on the plan. The first concerns the chord measurement of the wings. On the plan view it is 160mm but on the fuselage side view it is 165mm. As the curving of the wing panel shortens the actual chord this makes the wing to narrow by 10 - 12mm. Of course you discover this after cutting the panels. I have just filled in the gap on the lower wing mounting and hope that the reduced chord will not have any adverse affect. The second is the outboard undercarriage leg. If it is mounted as the plan it passes through the outboard wing panel preventing the wings from be folded for transport. The leg should come from the centre of the engine nacelle which allows it to pass through the inner wing panel. The photo accompanying the magazine article shows this position. There are supposed to be construction photos on this website but I can find no trace.
  24. Chris, This is a small outrunner with no facility to fit prop driver to the can It has a 1/8" shaft. There used to be drivers which fitted with a grub screw but they seemed to be no longer available
