  1. Latest firmware with MVVS26, still failing, but now I get a lot of telemetry lost/recovered before the RF lockout   Edited By John Allen on 02/10/2017 15:33:45
  2. I think the smaller one flys more excitingly than the XL. That said I'm gonna up the aileron throws and see what happens. Rudder seems less effective on the XL than the standard one too.
  3. As a matter of interest, if you leccify a standard/artf balsa Acrowot, where do you make the battery hatch?
  4. The funny rebate behind the cowling is for two strokers, and I don't see any good bits in that field ;(
  5. ASP 91FS, ARTF flew wonderfully, next one will be the XL
  6. I'd say my 30cc models would only do 15mins with a 350ml tank (assuming its not idling), but my 20cc Yak54 with a 500ml tank would easily do 30mins, if not more
  7. Only thing is tygon hardens with exposure to petrol. I've switched to Excelon GO-1480, actually gets softer with exposure to fuel, supposedly does not slip off metal tube as easily as tygon (mainly because it does not harden), if more pliable, etc.... As suggested in RCM&E. Got mine here
  8. The BM version has 2.4hp, the standoff version only has 2.1hp. DLE20 has 2.5hp. I have a DLE20 in my Seagull Yak54, very good.
  9. Considering one of these RCGF 15cc BM for my HobbyKing Zlin50l. Has anyone used one, and what do you think of fitting to the Zlin
  10. Automounts magically with my Debian 7.x not /etc/fstab mods necessary
  11. ASP91 two stroke is 80gms heavier than 91fs, so I think you'll be fine as the Acro is typically tail heavy. There was video on the youtube of an Acro with a Jen .91, and it went like stink (can't seem to find it now)
  12. Damn you IAA. A previous wording implied that any models being flown under existing legislation (ie. under the auspices of MACI) would not be required to register. Now its every model over 1.5kg. I've 17 models, if that going to cost me 17*5€ a year? If it is it better damn well give me insurance cover, so I can dispense with my MACI cover/membership.
  13. I can heartily recommend a a HobbyKing Walrus, plug'n'fly and cheap as chips. Flys really easy, cheap batteries (around £8). Find a club a buy and brand of radio that the club instructors can buddy with you (or buy 2 transmitters, and associated wires/wireless links) Edited By John Allen on 17/12/2015 10:21:38
  14. The Excelon GO-1480 stuff softens with exposure to petrol, and won't slip off your brass tubing. Seems like this stuff is fantastic, and will last years.
  15. In Septembers mag there is a reference to Excelon GO-1480 fuel tubing. Do anybody know who sells this stuff in the UK?
  16. I had the throttle stick problem, the stick would pop back up a bit from idle. Adjusted the screw, and all is good now.
  17. Dumped all my Futaba stuff, now everything is Taranis, love it. Now FrSky could come out with better gimbals and switches, and a sexier looking case, and maybe only add £50-60 quid to the price. It would look/feel as good as Futaba/JR, but still be miles cheaper. Plus the PC software for setting up new models, and fiddling with existing ones is just fantastic.
  18. After a closer inspection last night, my AGM30 looks more like a genuine DLE30 than my actual DLE30. The only real exception on both being the carb, its not a DLE carb.
  19. Almost everything on mine looks genuine, with the exception of the cylinder casting, and the carb.
  20. QPStore looks good for gas engines, that's where I'll be getting my DLE35RA
  21. I've got an AGM30, and recently a DLE30 from chinoeuk. The DLE30 is identical to the AGM30, and sports many of the signs of a fake DLE. So I'd suggest that the DLE30 from chinoeuk is probably a fake, and made in the same factory as the AGM motors. That said if it runs ok, I'm not bothered, as I've save €120 over a genuine DLE.
  22. Well, 5 flights today, starting to get a hang of this model. Think I'm going to remove the 20g from the tail, as I feel if flew more precisely with the forward CG, even if slightly more up trim was required. First time on high rates, and wow, really wild. Used about a litre of fuel for the 5 flights, so pretty good on the economy side. Lands beautifully, really does slow down with a headwind.
  23. Was back in the air at the weekend, still some up trim required, but now has a tendency to drop the tail in aileron only turns, maybe CG was fine just where it was. Not tail heavy though, although elevator did seem a bit more sensitive than previous flight, it wasn't silly or anything. Flight was excellent (all throws were reduced by moving the linkages in on the servo arms), nice landing into the wind, slowed down well, idle is a bit better after another tank (500ml) of fuel through. Weather was quite blustery, so will reserve judgement till I get a nice flying day. Still need to get the throttle curve sorted, was 1k rpm down on not using the curve, so some investigation needed.
