  1. Hi all, I'm about to start building the Tucano 600, which I've managed to get a copy of the drawing and RCME 2003 May issue. Now I see the fuselage building notes are in the June copy. Does anyone have a copy of those notes that can be emailed to me, rather than hunting the web for another old publication. Thanks Tom.
  2. can anyone help me, I'm looking for the instructions from Radio Modeller September 1986 to build the Sky bird. Happy with an emailed copy or what ever. Thanks Tom
  3. Thank you for that Caveman. I've now read your log, and it looks a very attractive build. Do you fancy building another. I had a DB Jodel, which I bought from eBay, which the guy told me it flew on 2 2200 lipo,s. Having put the set up he advised in the plane, I had the same problem, it was too heavy. So I finished up reverting to IC on that one. This model looks the business so I'm hoping my 2200 3s do the job. The time it takes me to build, it's going to be well into summer before it flys. So thank for your help.i may be back.
  4. Hi wolstonFlyer I'm a bit late on this one, as I'm just about to start the 2013 mass build as I was not too keen on this years choice. So I've read lots of the threads on this one. So I've just received the wood pack and looking at my electric motors etc. My question to you is this, on one thread you mentioned using 2 X 2200 3 S lipo,s to drive it. Like you I have more of these lipo,s than I should admit to, but how did this work? Or did you revert to 1 larger size. Reads lots on this link but couldn't find an answer. Thank
  5. Playing on line I found a BVR kit web site with these listed. Are they an option or "not to touched" option.
  6. Thanks guys, just hoping Vortex still hold them.
  7. Hi all, I have been looking at all the discussion ref Nigel Hawes Tucano, and wondering if this was ever made into a kit. I would love to have a go at building one. Tom
  8. i have bought an old Easy Street still in the box, but no idea of the size of battery or size of motor and speed controller needed. All the drawing are showing very old electric set ups. Hoping someone can advise on a more up to date set up. Thanks.
  9. Hi Dave How much flight time would I get with those lipo,s or should I invest in larger packs, ie something like 3000 size. Tom
  10. Hi Guys I'm well behind all of you on this build, I have just received my wood pack, but thinking now to go electric. I'm new to electric so still finding it all a black art. I have a BL2832/05 which came out of a plane I bought and turned into IC. So I am looking for your advice to see whether this motor would be OK and what battery's and ESC I should use. The electric aircraft I have are all powered by 4s 2200 lipo,s. Thanks Tom
  11. Hi all I'm behind most of you on this matter. I'm still finishing off the build from last year, too cold in the garage at the moment. Is there a discount on the purchase of the CNC pack of the Ballarina, as I have a feeling that's the next build for me. Love all the pictures of finished aircraft so far, can't wait to start my own. Tom
  12. Hi all having built 2 pushy cats and love them both, I wondered if I could build a bigger version. Does anyone know of a plan or the best place to enlarge the plan. Or has anyone built one and could give me some advise regarding the project. Thanks for you input.
  13. Mr Vortex yes I,m interested in the canopy. Either I have the bits laser cut or I spend the winter cutting them out my self. So if you can dig deep and inform me of a price I,lol have it. Tom
  14. Hi Phil that's where I got mine from this morning. I have the 60 size plane which I,m still flying, I bought the kit about 1990, and it still flys OK but a it of hanger rash now.
  15. Hi Dylan, well let's try again. Just got the drawing printed at Staples, I asked for full size but I,m not sure of what I got. As I said orinally this plane was around in the late 80,s great flyer, but they are only RTF these days, which I don't buy. From that you can guess my age. I have in on a memory stick also, so what would you prefer, the drawing as it is, or both. What address do you want me to send it all to. Thanks again Tom
  16. hi Guys I've been looking for someone to make a kit of the old Great Planes Super Sportster 40. Mine is now past its best, so would like a new one. Unfortunately everything is ARTF now, which is not my cup of tea. So any ideas of a good source. I know Belair kits, but was looking for a smaller outfit. Thanks Tom
  17. Hi everyone, I have bought a DB Jodel in very good condition, but it has been changed to electric and I,m trying to convert it back to IC. All looks straight forward enough but i,m not sure of the position of the engine mount. So can someone please advise me of the exact position to fit the mount. The original has been changed. Thanks Tom
  18. Thanks for that Simon, any problems on binding, or just the same as a futaba RX.
  19. Hi everyone i keep reading that the Frsky is compatible with Futaba, what I,m looking for is some to tell me that is so. I read so many articles on the subject, but to be honest I never believe most of them. i have 7c transmitter and using r617fs RX. So help needed as I,m like most and looking for a cheaper receiver. thanks Tom
  20. Well what a response. Points have been suggested that would never enter my mind. So a big thanks to everyone. This morning I see this Foamie is back in stock after many months. So I have ordered another and hope I get this one right. I must admit I wanted the parkzone Spitfire but as we know these are no longer made. I shall assemble the new one and try to address all the suggestions put forward, but please don't stop, I,m open to all ideas. thanks again Tom
  21. Right, when if flew without flaps it would become uncontrollable at lower speeds, and pitch from side to side. Flaps put down on approach for landing would make matters worse. Flying at high speed was OK. But you can't land on grass flat out. I could take it off the deck with no issues and fly around OK. The moment revs were reduced the problems would start.
  22. Hi Bill i only use the flaps to land, normally I'm flying full throttle, which is not too fast on these. I finished up not using the flaps at all. I,m a B standard flyer, but this thing was very twitchy.
  23. Hi Guys, I need your help. I bought one of these last year and from day one had lots of problems. whenever I put the flaps down, to land it went out of control. After a few very lucky landings I stopped using the flaps. It would take off ok then suddenly tip stall, last flight broke the fuselage. bought a new fuselage and no difference, sometimes flew ok others it was uncontrollable, mainly when slowing up. Last flown mid summer when it took off ok I turned at the far end of the field which looked ok, then it was all over the place and again heading to the ground which left me with another broken spitfire. Any ideas please. I balanced it to the 70 mm as instructed, but it's the flaps down bit that worried me. As I said all over the place, and no control. i want to buy another, if they ever get China to make enough, but ............. Tom
  24. Hi Gents i know it's awhile after your original comments, but I have bought a Sig kit direct from USA. No one in the UK has stock. British customs had their share. But the point I,m trying to make is that the quality of the wood in the kit was dire. So soft on the wings, every time I picked it up I put my fingers through the panelling. Also when building the fuselage the bits did not fit. Looks like the dies are wearing, one side was bigger than the other. Love the Hog have fallen out with Sig. Flair would be on a winner at the moment. Just bought original F Dunn plans, so will sit in the garage for the spring cutting bits out, unless you know a good laser cutting service. Tom
