We have been trying to clock up some miles for the latest BMFA Round the World Challenge but every day so far has been too grim. Wind (a lot of wind), or rain, or both. The forecast says it won't improve anytime soon. It's a typical British summer. . . Lol.

BT Internet here in Wellingborough. Access to the forum went moody last night and this morning. Clearing cookies and cache, etc made no difference.

RC Modeller banned from flying on his own land
Brian Cooper replied to paul devereux's topic in All Things Model Flying
There are two types of people in this world: There are those who do things. . . and there are those who complain about people who do things. -

I see you have met my ex-wife, then. -
This is the way I teach kids how to do it: Fly towards yourself until it is about 70-100 yards from you, and pull up into generous half a loop. The model will now be higher, inverted and you will be viewing it from the rear. It will also be going away from you which it isn't as scary as coming towards you. The ailerons will still work in their correct (left/right) sense. . . All you have to do is keep the wings level and apply enough down elevator to prevent it from dropping out of the sky. In the early stages, I encourage them to apply slightly too much down elevator..... the model will climb, which is much nicer than watching it drop due to not enough down elevator. The size of the smile on their faces denotes when they have "got it". Once the art of flying straight and level inverted has been mastered, we move on to more adventurous (inverted) stuff. .
