Servo doesn’t recentre to same point
Brian Cooper replied to EGB 953's topic in Gadgets and Electronics
Regrettably, the venerable old Futaba 148 is (was) at best only ever suitable for aircraft of low weight and low performance. . It was a very basic servo and was only ever on the first "step of the ladder" in the "starter" or "intro" range. Mostly they were supplied as part of a package with a new radio outfit. The servo output shaft is not ballraced, and it soon wears out and becomes vague and floppy. It can be likened to driving a car with the steering and suspension ball joints worn out. Yes, it will still steer but there will be a distinct lack of precision. There are far superior servos available nowadays and they are not shockingly expensive. Do the model a favour and upgrade to higher quality servos. . . You can feel the difference. . -
Yes, it certainly looks like Mick.

Fuel for Four stroke GLOW (asp81)
Brian Cooper replied to Den Moran's topic in All Things Model Flying
I must say that I find it curious that all of my glow engines - and I have many - all run smoothly, have instant throttle response, stay clean inside and out, and have extremely long and reliable lives due to running on Prosynth. Probably the best fuel in the world. This isn't a glib statement based on a single bottle of fuel. . . It is a statement of fact derived from over 23 years (and counting) of using hundreds of gallons of the stuff. I just find it bizarre that every engine I have loves the stuff but, apparently, there is one make which can't or won't run on it. Fair enough, use a different fuel in that make of engine. But let the rest run on perfection.
