  1. It has been many years since I went there but I had a great time. I also took my young lad with me and he loved it too. We had a great choice of aircraft to fly... and we flew most of them. In the evening, there was a fabulous barbecue and a great party atmosphere. Only drawback was it was too hot to fly during the midday hours.
  2. I used Model Technics fuel in the last millennium. . . 🤦‍♂️ . . But I am better now.
  3. The suggested discharging regimes are all good and should give an indication of battery health and stamina. If buying a new battery, give it the same tests/regimes. . . Many people assume a new battery will be 100% perfect. In reality, some new batteries don't quite make the grade. It pays to be cautious.
  4. It is refreshing to see this topic coming back into a collective consciousness. Those of us who have been in the game for a number of years have learnt about the frailty of connectors, but we take it for granted that everyone else knows about the problems when, in reality, they don't. The regrettable fact of life is that after years of plugging them in (and out) our connectors wear out. Leaving them plugged in doesn't give immunity from issues either because eventually a "film" grows between the contacts, which then gives a poor "jittery" connection. So... Catch 22. . . Plugging them in helps to keep the contacts clean and bright, but it also makes them wear out. Personally, I adopt the kind of thinking which is more associated with full size aviation. Namely, fix it before it breaks. . My connectors are replaced after three years' service. Don't forget your on/off switches either. They wear out too. I also approach all details of a model, especially the radio installations, with the mindset of thinking I would actually be in the thing.... and would not want to be flying in it with anything substandard, weak, or bodged. Remember, with aircraft, if there is anything that CAN fail, then it ruddy well WILL (sooner or later). .
  5. Gorillas aren't safe either. . Think of all the poor gorillas that get turned into tape or glue... 🤣 Better not mention the cruelty surrounding the trade in monkey nuts. 🙄
  6. Exchanges between lawyers and witnesses. It's now easy to see why better lawyers cost a bit more, eh... 🤦‍♂️
  7. Yes, things change. But they don't necessarily change for the better. There now seems to be an expectation of a short life for most products. . . And employing vague, flimsy hinges on a large model is one way to ensure it. . Lol. Sometimes the old ways are the best.
  8. Mrs said if you're bored make a bird table. So I did, and now she's kicking off because I put her in fifth place.
