  1. I've previously suggested exactly the same regulator Andy but you still have the same heat dissipation problem, LDO doesnt help that. 🙂
  2. Amp-hour gentlemen 🙂
  3. As C8 has said, on a 3S pack the 7805 has 7.6 volts across it. As little as just 130mA is a watt of heat dissipation. I wouldnt! 😁
  4. I think I need a new camera Brian, although all the flying shots were (unavoidably) taken into the sun The Canon S3 has been great but its old and a service would probably cost more than a new camera...

This combo from Aliexpress is the very same bundle as the above from 4-Max but at half the price. Its not similar, its identical - except Aliexpress gives you an extra servo! https://www.aliexpress.com/ssr/300000512/BundleDeals2?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.60.3818d3606OrDA8&productIds=1005006414999169:12000037122260213
  6. Or.... depending on your gear, we (our slope group) mostly use a single lipo cell, without any booster or regulator.
  7. If you're ever passing, Newark Air Museum has one, and a Fred too!

Just a reminder to read the spec fully and not make assumptions as I did (!) The 4-Max package arrived promptly but the 2212 is a 28mm motor not 22mm. To be fair it does say so in the spec (which I missed, my fault) but the name "A2212" is deceiving when you're used to 'conventional' descriptions - for example Georges 'CF2805' motor is 28mm as you'd expect, his 'PO-2826' is 28mm, yet the A2212 is also 28mm. In fact the A2212 is almost exactly the size of the Babe-Bee fuel tank which is ok. I've since found other 'value pack' combos on Aliexpress and Banggood, at even lower prices, so much choice! 😄 .
  9. Until you give it enough to arc (thousands of volts) voltage doesnt come into it 😉 So yes, a standard switch harness will be fine with an 8.4v lipo. A lipo can deliver much more current than a NiMh so you will see less 'saggng' under servo loads - but use a suitable wire guage for the load, otherwise the resistance of the wires causes a slight loss of voltage across the length of the cable. When soldering up, be extra careful to avoid shorts - even a small lipo will happily deliver enough current into a short to completely burn out a standard switch harness.
