  1. I use these almost exclusively on jets and warbirds. They are indeed Eurokit retracts and I have found them utterly reliable. i do recommend changing the control valve to a Jetronic electronic one though (personal preference) and the fill valve to a good quality Unitract (shraeder (spelling?) bicycle tyre) type. You can then pump up the system to about 100psi using a bike pump (hardest) or a car tyre inflator (mines on my jump start unit which also doubles as my field battery - easiest). Any tyre inflator will do but battery powered ones are easiest.
  2. Try Petes Pilots on ebay, luvverly figures and cheap as chips.
  3. Hi Alan, yes retracts and oleos and yes I think a flat wing. Shame because as you say the real one had distinct dihedral. Haven't fitted the wings yet but I will try them today. Hi Davis, yes life here is good although flying etc hasn't been possible. So far almost every day is a flying day. Fuselage repaired. There's so much space I was able to get my meaty paw in, pop the skin back into place and liberally apply thin cyano.
  4. Since moving to Spain my flying has very much taken a back seat to other stuff. However, I have been invited to join the local club (RC Saeta, Sevilla) and thought I should buy a model.   the nearest model shop of any size is 120km away in Jerez, so off I trundle this morning. I was planning on something sensible, but the title tells you what i bought.   I have the 120 sized trojan from BH. It is pretty big and very pretty. To top it off I also bought a 26cc petrol engine as it occured to me that petrol is easier to get than glow fuel.   The model was really well packaged but has a slight compression break in the soft skin near the tail. typically too far down to get a hand in. Nevermind, the shop keeper reduced the kit and also gave me a good deal on the engine.   SOoooo..... has anyone built or flown this model?Edited By Shaun Chant on 26/03/2011 20:13:44
  5. I have to ask, whats peel ply and how do you use it? Also where do you get it?
  6. Hope to get mine underway this summer, if I can get the kit to Spain.
  7. You get the occasional PMC one on eBay but thats it.   There's always the CARF one though!   Tucano!   I quite fancy repainting it in the South American COIN scheme.
  8. Cool. I wonder how it compares to the World Models Tucano?
  9. well come on then, how do they fly?
  10. Any more photos, any more info?   Nasty film covering from what I could see, it'll have to come off or be painted.
  11. Thanks guys. I checked the website but it appears to be down

  15. New York   Seems to have been done with full approval of the authorities too.
  16. If its the Sea Hurricane I think it'll be the 60 size, which is the one I have.
  17. Posted by Alan C on 22/01/2011 10:17:51: Posted by Shaun Chant on 22/01/2011 08:06:05: You can stiffen it by cutting the tube and inserting a length of brass tube into the tube inside the tank. But make sure you trim it so it won't get stuck at the back of the tank and moves freely to all the corners. can i refer the honorable gentleman to my similar post futher up, and respectfully suggest that brass is NOT used, as the fuel attacks brass over time, leaving it oxidised, and very brittle, have you guys ever stripped a tank with brass pipes, and witnessed this?     Blimey.... that's me told then. I have used brass and never had an issue, but then I bow to your not inconsiderable experience.   So perhaps you should use another metal, but the tube thing works for me..
  18. I have one in my loft waiting for me to come home in the summer.
  19. Pretty reasonable for the money and some models you don't see elsewhere on a limited budget; P51B, Sea Hurricane etc.   There's an excellent thread on RCMF about the VQ Hurricane.   VQ Sea Hurricane
  20. Sort of. It is a ground training aid at the college where Yuri Gagarin (spelling) completed his basic pilot training.
