  1. Hi Alan, Have just weighed my completed blades. Complete with covering, the grp reinforcement plates and a 5g tip weight they are only 44g each. I have increased the negative shim from 0,4 to 0,8 and would certainly recommend the 5g tip weights but apart from that they perform great. Regards, Chris.
  2. Gyroo update! Have shortened the blades by moving the location hole 10mm outboard and added the 0.4 shims. Decided to hand launch and although it still climbed quite alarmingly it was easier to bring under control. Once airborne flies great. I think a hand launch is the way I need to go with this particular model. Thanks for the help, Chris.
  3. Thanks Tom and Rich, Clearly I still have much to learn! Will introduce the shims and see how we go. Will let you know! Regards, Chris.
  4. Hi Rich, Photo shows head angle relative to mast with Gyroo and camera horizontal. Head servo’s are Corona 239MG’s as recommended. Plate is 1mm from Coolwind. Stab is parallel to beam and not warped. Blades are as per plan although I have not fitted the shims as I thought they mainly aided spin up and that is not an issue. Have increased hang angle from an initial 19deg to about 21 in an attempt to rectify problem! Regards, Chris.
  5. Hi. Am having problems with my Gyroo ballooning up vertically after take off. Have built as per plan with an initial hang angle of 18deg. Head was set square to mast as suggested. Blades have 5g weights at tips. Even with an increase in hang angle and a reduction in head angle it still balloons alarmingly on take off and also struggles to make headway into wind as it also balloons up then. Any advice? Thanks, Chris.
  6. The motor thrust line lies about 18mm above the vertical hang line. I didn’t think this was ideal however reading other comments this appears to be about typical. I already have the motor as low as possible without striking the boom so not certain what more I could do. As far as tip weights on the blades the answer is no. I wasn’t aware they could be necessary nor what their affect would be.
  7. Revolver Issues! I could really do with some help please! My Revolver porpoises on anything above half throttle. Have built as per plan with a hang angle initially set at 16 to 17deg. Almost unflyable. Adjusted hang angle to 19deg and not much better. Any advise? Regards, Chris.
  8. Thanks for the offer Phil. Will message you.
  9. Looking for my first PSS. Really wanted something in EPP for obvious reasons! Has anyone got something they wish to sell? Otherwise was thinking of getting one from Leading Edge Gliders. Has anyone experience of these kits? Any help would be much appreciated. (Have got many years experience of powered planes).
  10. We have just spent a week in Llandudno and I must say we were made very welcome by the guys flying off the Great Orme last Sunday (17th). Despite not knowing us, 2 of the flyers, upon knowing I fly mode 1, offered me their planes to fly: some of the most enjoyable flying I have had all year. Thanks. I spoke to Tim and we will make every effort to come back for one of the 2 remaining PSSA meets.
  11. Just purchased a new DX6 (EU spec) only to find that it no longer supports DSM2. have checked the wording in a number of UK adverts offering this new radio and all but one states DSMX / DSM2 compatible. Unfortunately I have several DSM2 receivers in functioning planes that would now appear to be redundant. Anyone else been tripped up by this, or am I mistaken ?
  12. Acro Wot Foam-e or a Max Thrust MX2 ? Your thoughts please. Chris
  13. Great looking plane. Watched the videos a few days ago and was really impressed. Cannot find any more details however. Hobbyking do mention that a further video will be released soon.
  14. Thanks guys. Always nice to get other peoples opinions who have actually flown the plane before parting with my hard earned. Regards Chris @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  15. Hi I would like to ask you guys for your opinion: E-Flite carbon Z Yak or Sebart Angel S30, as a freestyle machine ?   Regards Chris @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  16. Hi there Have entered this thread a little late to be asking this, but i would be v. interested to hear from anyone who has built and flown the CMPro Yak 54 (52" wingspan). After a great deal of searching i am certain that this is the same plane as the NitroModels Yak of the same description (50 2 stroke engine designation). A 3d capable, scale I.C aerobat of about 50" span is exactly what i am looking for next although i intend to put a 4 stoke in it. Thanks Chris
  17. Hi there has anyone flown a hangar 9 tribute 36 with a four stroke in it ? what did it perform like and what prop did you find worked best ? i have just purchased one of these after seeing one with a two stroke and that flew great. its just that i'm coming from electric flight any while i don't have a problem fitting the recommended evo 36 two stroke i would much prefer a four thanks chris
