  1. Hi Bob, This is a great thread with lots of info - I found the thread very helpful when I was starting out with my E-Pio. Also if you have access there is a previous article on the E-Pio in RCM&E March 2008 also very informative. My E-Pioneer is still going strong and has taken me from complete beginner to 'A' test pass and now beyond. The CofG is stated as 8.5cm from the leading edge in the assembly manual, which has worked OK for me.
  2. I agree with Martin, I run mine with a 4S 3900, good power for take-offs and handling those windy conditions - good flight time too.
  3. If electric is the chosen route then how about the the E-Pioneer trainer, it flies slow when required, for lots of 'thinking time' can handle reasonable wind conditions, robust construction for those early 'arrivals' reasonable to buy, spare parts available and will keep you going after an 'A' test.
  4. Well I think mine will be to - stop looking at my Dynam ME-262, get it built, buy a suitable pair of brown trousers and maiden it.
  5. Has anybody got one of these models - I would be interested in any reviews/comments/problems/recommendations/tips/flying experience/pics etc that the forum might have.
  6. Hi Graham, Can you supply any photos of your Gangster - as I too have an Emax 2832 which was in a Wot 4, but now looking for a new home.
  7. Hi Ken, I did the same as Alwyn & Stephen just velcro ESC to side of battery bay, I am using a 4s and there is still room. Also I have just switched from the standard kit wheels to 3 inch foam wheels, which seems to make take-off's a lot easier off the grass strip where I fly.
  8. Ahh the old pilot error, yes I too have suffered. Any idea what sort of flight times you get with your power train.
  9. Calling Huggy, I too have just aquired this model and wondered in the end, what servo's you installed. I don't really want to alter the servo cut outs especially in the wing where the covering is so good and so a drop in servo recommendation would be useful. Anybody have any views on the Spektrum 3010 servo. Whats the general oponion of this model as a graduate from a long serving trainer to a first low winger.
  10. Did not want to start a new thread for a similar theme - but has anyone built the SLEC Electric Funfly kit yet.
  11. Hi Chris, thanks for the response, an upto date video when available would be great - yes I've seen that wood packs are now available and am tempted to have a go.
  12. Jim, really nice model - were there any specific build issues.
  13. Clive, based on the video link what sort of flight times are you getting from your power train - also any pics of the battery removable hatch modification.
  14. Hi Timbo - if you go down the 6 * A123 cells route, I think that would make really interesting reading and a little unusual against the usual LiPo recommendations/power trains. I for one, would be interested in A123 installation and any flight results - or perhaps an update to your article.
  15. Hi PB - Thanks for the power train update, I've always wanted one myself as they look really good. A 120 size electric Spacewalker would also be nice too.
  16. Just wondering PB, what sort of typical flight times you getting from your Spacewalker and the 4S capacity.
  17. Nice model - did the dummy engines take long to make/any special tools used to construct them.
  18. Hi PB, Just wondering what power train you ended up with and any other flight comments, as I too am interested in this EP model.
  19. Thanks for photos - sorry I should have looked first, but that covering scheme is real jazzy !!. At present the 'bug' is not started as I have recently passed my 'A' cert and hence been trying to get in as many flights as possible with my leccy trainer while the weather still holds, but now that the winter is coming I will have some time to devote to the 'bug'.
  20. Hi Neil, thanks for posting the flight info - are you able to post a picture of the finished Jitterbug. I like the idea of that bolted on undercarraige and wing very good.
  21. If you decide Leccy route, would you post the power train that you have in mind - Thanks
  22. Thanks for the update - Pictures would be really good and 15-20 mins would be excellent. I guess that the extended removable hatch helps a lot with battery removal.
  23. Hi Julian - just wondering if you have an update on your leccy Jitterbug - as I too am interested in building one. What sort of flight time are you aiming for.
  24. Anybody know if th E-Pio is capable of a controlled spin - as its my only flying model at present I am reluctant to have a go !!
