  1. I have the new upgrade controller with the Phantom 2 and the Feiyu 2d mini gimbal. The gimbal is wired in and works ok in auto when flying. But the problem is the manual pitch control using the thumbwheel on the upgrade controller. Instead of the specified 45deg up and 90deg down I'm getting 45deg down and 90deg up. There is no adjustment/reverse setting software, only software for slight adjustment to and set correct intial alignment and firmware updates. Feiyu have been absolutely useless just refering me to the already mentioned software. This is all new equipment so its never been used on anything else before. Is it possible to reverse these movements by maybe swapping the polarity of the wiring on the thumbwheel inside the controller? Its a real pain at the moment because I can only get 45deg down view and 90deg up looking at the bottom of the quad! I cant video directly below the quad. Anybody out there got any solutions. The spec sheet says manual pitch is 45deg up and 90deg down, but mounted underneath the quad (normal positon) I'm getting those values reversed! Edited By foamidable on 08/01/2016 20:56:29
  2. Have now discovered that the files were zipped so have unpacked and managed to update the firmware which was a bin. file. So far so good but still no pitch and roll adjustment functioning in phantom2 Naza-m settings and cant find any Feiyu Tech software. No adjustment software in any of the Feiyu downloads, anybody out there managed to adjust this 2d gimbal yet?
  3. Help, does anybody know how to adjust the pitch on the feiyu tech mini 2d gimbal. Ive got it working with the Phantom2 upgraded controller wheel, but it doesnt travel to 90deg down position. The adjustments in the naza assistant dont effect anything as they are greyed out and not active although they are adjustable. Ive been on the feiyu home site and there is a only usb driver download which i cant open as win7 says unknown file and the gimbal downloads are firmware downloads, again unknown file. I cant find any gimbal software to adjust the pitch travel etc. the gimbal is working perfectly, but when i use the pitch control wheel on the upgraded controller for the Phantom2 i cant get a full 90deg down. Cant find a solution/software to adjust settings antwhere. Edited By foamidable on 30/12/2015 21:10:46

  5. JJRC H12C     Pinion in question arrowed Hi, does anybody know if the small motor pinion gear is available as a spare as i can't find it listed anywhere. The motor and the larger spur gear are available, but neither comes with the small pinion included. I've read that the HC8 uses the same motor and this comes with the pinion fitted, the HC8 runs on 7.4v but i have also read thats why they burn out because the motor is really a 3.7v the same as H12C-5. Anybody know of a pinion source? fmd. 6. This is my 2nd build of a spit using freebuild plans from flitetest, com i didnt go for the removable powerpod. I double skinned the whole fuse instead for better srtength and durability and kept all electrics permanently installed. Weight without batt should be 14.9oz, mine came out at 1lb 8.5oz probably because of double skin. Having said that she flies very well, let go of the stick and she stays right on track where you left her. Power is supplied by 2200kv dys motor, 2200mah 3s batt and 30amp esc 7x4 E prop. I used 3x9gm servos as i find i dont use rudder at all (not into knife edge yet). Plane made from 5mm posterboard from Hobbycraft 2xA1 sheets is enough and at £4 a sheet thats cheaper than epp. The folded wing construction is amazingly strong and also gives aerofoil profile, a brilliant design. Have flown 10min flights and landed with power still in battery. Stall speed is a little high but flies comfortably at half throttle, full thottle gives vertical climb! Needs a little thottle when landing so you cant float her in. In the air she looks great and flies and manouvres like a real spitfire.Havent flown her since the paint job so cant wait to get her airborne again, but weather is not looking hopeful in the U.K for a while.See pics. Tip: I find the best way is to print out the tiled plans and glue to the posterboard with pva, when dry cutting through the lines is much easier than trying to cut round a paper profile. Glue the plans on the posterboard with excess paper around the outlines then you can cut through the actual lines accurately. Brian. yeh, customary 1-3 deg right and down, flew o.k before paint haven,t had the weather to try since. My hd keycam has given up the ghost and that's the only camcorder i had. Not into hand held cams but did like the onboard footage i used to capture with the keycam. Brian. The 4-Max prog card here ('Advence Pro' ) is identical to the card on the Sunrise site. That might solve the problem.... Pete hi, you're right looks like the same card trouble is £6.99 for the card plus £2.99 postage rip off. Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 11/12/2013 13:10:36 just located a card on ebay that looks identical at £5.99 including postage, currently waiting on seller to verify that the picture of it is accurate portrayal.

  12. Posted by Pete B - Moderator on 11/12/2013 09:28:17: Here's a page of downloadable instructions for Sunrise ESC's - the 25A page is here. Pete Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 11/12/2013 09:30:01 hi pete, thanks for your post. i already have that manual and it seems cut off mode is only progammable by using the card which i cannot source. foamidable
  13. hi, i have a sunrise 25amp pro esc bec. i dont seem to be able to change the cut off mode using the tx stick and cant find a program card for this esc even though one is mentioned in the rather obscure instructions. can anybody help? note i live in the uk so global postage etc. is not viable foamidable.
  14. Always wanted to build a spitfire, but up until now i could never find a decent full fuse plan. Then i came across a spit build on flitetest.com, they used foam board what we call in the u.k poster board. The paper skinned stuff, which i find too fragile. So i decided to make it out of 6mm and 5mm epp, modifying it a bit by adding stiffening braces in the wing internal and external and double skinning the first 2/3rds of the fuze length. The plan called for single skin on wing tips but i doubled it to add stiffness. They also use a swappable power pod, but i double skinned my fuse and installed the electrics in the normal way. Took about a week to build and maidened a few days ago a bit hairy until trimmed but then flew fine. Now she's a proven flier i will get down to adding some detail, canopy, radiator and paint job etc. The plans are adobe pdf format and i printed them at 92% which gave me wing halves of 500mm when joined giving 1 metre wingspan. Below are a few pics of the maidened model awaiting paint etc. p.s strange that there aren't loads of scratch plans for this iconic plane that everybody seems to love? Original build plan. **LINK**
  15. Posted by ken anderson. on 27/10/2012 10:31:16: hello phil may--are you big phils brother? ..whats happened to him....? the battery in the fob will be closing down due to the cold(common prob)..or died due to old age etc.... i had this problem back in april and cured it by encasing the cam in a foam jacket. in colder weather the prop draught/ flying chills the cam and volts drop cause switch off . see the thread link below: sroll down to report number #4707 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1556994&highlight=brianvc&page=314 i,ve now made the lens window from a clear cd case, works fine and nice and clear. i first made one with an open window and still shut cam down after a few minutes until i put a clear screen over the window. the whole thing is velcro'd to the wing with a lanyard attached to the cam and plane so it cant come off the plane completely.   Edited By foamidable on 27/10/2012 16:32:02
  16. i recently bought the parkzone se5a and found it to be dissatrously tail heavy on its 1st flight. i had to put over 2 ounces of lead in the nose to achieve optimum balance. i know this is right as she now flies level at half throttle with the elevator in a neutral mid position. i also didnt trust the plastic clevis pin with the rubber securing ring, which was already showing signs of perishing. so i drilled the clevis right thru and secured the connection with a suitable size "R" clip. you only need to "R" clip one end of the aerilon rod for adjustment, the other end can be fixed permanently with some piano wire passed thru then bent over to stop it coming out. i also replaced the rudder and elevator clevis joint the same way ,as any mid air failure doesnt bear thinking about.   Edited By foamidable on 02/09/2012 09:37:58 Edited By foamidable on 02/09/2012 09:39:22
  17. got the PZ se5a about a week ago, some +'s and -'s +'s great detail nicely finished flies well when trimmed and balanced. i had to put 2oz of lead in the nose to get mine balanced correctly. -'s the hinge tape on control surfaces is rather weak and papery, something you'll have to keep an eye on or risk losing a flap mid flight!!! they should have used a fibre tape or even mini hinges. the clevis pins are plastic and kept closed by a doubtfull tube ring which has already split apart on mine! i drilled out the pin right thru the clevis's and passed a piece of piano wire thru mine then bent each end over, there never gonna come adrift. obviously set the surfaces correctly b4 pinning. also the foam is quite fragile and easy to scar even in long grass so i used the fibre strenthened scotch tape on leading edges, wing tips and any other vunerable points, pity they didnt use some sort of EPP on the wings . but she is a beauty to see in the air very realastic. all in all she's a nice bird but as always there's always some points where you think they could have done better there.
  18. Posted by Mike Morcher on 14/07/2012 10:01:51: Hi Will a specktrum 6200 and remote receiver fit in the SE5a? Many thanks Mike i use the spekky ar500 rx in mine ok, dont know if thats the same size but probably is and i should think you can get the remote in too.
  19. i bought a imax b6 lipo charger from ebay, or so i thought. later on cruising youtube i came across this video (see link). i contacted the guy immediately and he refunded immediately according to the paypal email i received, but it hasnt shown up at all in paypal account yet. not even appearing as a pending transaction yet, so i'll give them 24 hrs then get on to them i think. you have been warned!   Edited By Steve Hargreaves - Moderator on 21/04/2012 21:14:06
  20. Posted by Big Phil on 13/11/2011 20:38:06: Can anyone shine a light on a problem I have with this camera. It is one of the 1280x720,30fps key fob cameras, when I plug into my PC it says it does not recognise the file type, when plugged into my laptop it plays the file but it is very jerky both in picture and sound. Any ideas on this one please.   Phil VLC is a much smoother runner than windows media player as it is not heavy on resouces. also if you download and install mp4cam2avi software it will repackage the mov file as an avi with no quality loss. it will then play in almost any player. i'm using a kingston 8gb sdhc class 4 no problems. some cards are not compatible with this camera see the website link below for lots of info from developers and users. its very important to install the latest camera firmware which fixes known bugs. all info is on the site. note this post refers to 808#16 only  it is not applicable to 808#11 or any other!   808#16 info http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1556994     freeware mp4cam2avi http://sourceforge.net/projects/mp4cam2avi/   Edited By foamidable on 10/04/2012 19:05:47 Edited By foamidable on 10/04/2012 19:08:21
