  2. Hi All, in the **LINK** is a small video from my Panther, its not flown by myself. Koen.
  3. Hi Erfolg, I think you should rotate the HK head 90 deg. left or right and arrange 1 servo at the leftside and 1 servo at the rightside of the mast.. Mixing the servo control as V tail or Delta. Succes. Koen
  4. Paul and Andy On page 18 from this thread Malcolm shows and discribes how to dril the holes on an exact and equal distance from the centre hole. Koen Edited By Koen Smits on 30/06/2013 12:18:40
  5. Trevor, remove the spats. With longer grass you can't get realy control the panther because a lot of movements occur you don't be aware of. I'm still in the hopping stage, my longest flight was 47 seconds and ended in a crash.
  6. Hey Markus, Allan and Trevor, your machines looks very good. Markus, for the headplate they made a song long time ago called "Paint it Black" or cover the plate with black oracover, orastick. Koen
  7. This is what I use to measure trust from a given motor - prop - battery combination. The slide is made from a pair of drawerslides
  8. Hi Tim, after some "trimming" hops these were the best flights up to now . Everything is repaired, Waiting now for some nice summerdays without much wind. Maybe it will take some time and more repairs but I think I get this thing flying. Koen

  14. Here are some pictures from my builds Peter Miller's Fournier RF4 Browne's Monoplane Richard Harris's Panther No picture Fling Wing Trying to get the Panther flying at the moment, It's a totaly different expirience compared to fixed wings Koen
  15. Rich, José, Make the top from the sanding block(s), instead of ply, from aluminum, because after some sparts of sanding the ply will show some wear and your blades get thinner. I have just finished profiling my second set of blades, ( spares ) and for the next set i need to make new sanding blocks. koen Edited By Koen Smits on 15/05/2013 20:23:46

  17. Steve, I used VIVAK or PET-G for the canopy, thicknes 0.7 mm or 0.0275". I don't know a good source in your country, I bought mine in Germany. Pictures from my Vac forming rig you can find in the forum Hints and Tips,
  18. The postman has just delivered my copy of the June issue, but it's only half, I'm missing all pages between 42 and 51, and also between 82 and 91 and the pages 35 to 42 and the pages 91 to 98 I have double. If some one has the pages I'm missing, I would be glad to swap them for the pages I have double. Koen Smits

  21. This one I found a while ago somewhere on the internet, it's from a german autogiro builder. Here runs the drum in the correct direction.   Be aware, it will gif a lot of dust. Koen   Edited By Koen Smits on 12/04/2013 09:20:07
  22. Big T and all other readers, I would never use the sandingdrum as in the video, he can be lucky the motor has little or no power and quits running as soon he puts the wood under the drum. If the motor was strong enough he was missing probably 1 or more fingers. Use of a sandingdrum ONLY when the drum is rotating AGAINST the feed direction. To make a drum like that use the same principle as Bill Pettit used to make his sandingblocks. Koen
  23. Richard, Malcolm and David thanks for the clear answers, I will keep the panther as it is now, try to fly again later this week, if the wetter gets a little beter and dry. Koen
  24. Questions to the above post: Question 1: Which of the distances is correct? Question 2: I have the spindle mounted as in photo 1, distance to spindle mount center 35 mm, do I have to move my CofG now further back, to 28 mm or 23 mm instead of 18 mm from the front of the mast? Koen
