  1. Sounds a bit like he's jealous, wishes he had a jet, can't get one for one reason or another and so doesn't want anyone else to have fun when he can't.
  2. Posted by Derek on 02/01/2012 14:07:02: I have just bought myself a Habu 32 EDF, in the process of assembly and have come across a problem withe the installation of the front retract set up. I am using DX7 so cannot disable the steering when retracted, my problem is when the nosewheel is retracted i cannot get enough movement and using the rudder the steering servo binds up one way, the pushrod will not stay centralized in the slot for steering, should i make the slot longer or is there another remedy? Thanks, Derek Just wondering if you found a remedy to this?
  3. Snap! From www.arrowmodels.com   See my build thread here actually: http://www.rcparkflying.com/radio-control-park-flying-forum/33-planes/39683-wot4-foame-mk2-artf-build-thread Edited By Quandry on 12/04/2012 22:47:40
  4. Cheers all and no my box was not damaged.  The tail swivel looks like a weak part though on close inspection.  It's just a bad design.   From what I can make out there could be three different esc's at play here? Wot4 Foam E MK1 - 30a (blue heatshield) - photo from Ripmax website http://www2.ripmax.net/Item.aspx?ItemID=P-CF020/14   Wot 4 Foam E Mk2 - 40a (gold heatshield) - As Allan posted above and the same as what I got in my first Wot 4 Mk2 Wot 4 Foam E MK2 - 40a (Hobbywing) - or possibly the shops are just swapping in Hobbywing ESCs (will get a photo of mine tonight)   I recently built a ripmax ST Blaze that comes with a 30amp ESC, It looks identical to the 30A Wot4 ESC I posted above. The Blaze was criticised for having a weak ESC and people recommend putting in a 40A ESC so I swapped mine over for the Gold coloured Wot4 ESC. Now I wonder is that a good idea?? Anyone who has had one of the 'fireball' Wot4 esc's can you confirm if they were blue, gold, or otherwise??     Edited By Quandry on 12/04/2012 16:29:46
  5. Hey Allan just as a follow up, I bought one of the ebay Wot 4's from www.arrowmodels.com. They had very fast shipping to Dublin and great communication on ebay. Two problems with the kit however, the vertical tail fin bolt thread was stripped and also the tail fin/wheel assembly was snapped clean in two straight out of the box. I guess these are some of the quality issues people were complaining about? luckilly I had those parts in good shape from my first wot4 so with the aid of some foam glue, tape, and a scalple the new one is in flying shape and awaiting the weekend. I also noticed that the ESC was different, it says Hobbywing 40A on the shrinkwrap. The first Wot4 I got had a gold heatsink and no external notation. Both were MK2 models with decals/instructions etc so I wonder did the shop switch in the Hobbywing ESC for some reason and does anyone know if they're ok?
  6. Posted by Allan Bowker on 02/04/2012 18:42:50: Quan, I don't know of any WOT4 Foam-e Mk3, although I'm sure they will be manufacturing more due to the sales success of this plane. Hopefully they will improve the quality of the ESC, servo's and motor as well as a design change to the tail hinge (I'm not holding my breath though!). Keep us posted if you hear any news. "This model is currently being revised" Source: http://radiocontrolledshop.ie/electric-plane-kits-artf/2801-wot-4-foam-e-mk2-artf-a-cf020.html Also I rang around several other Ripmax dealers both here and in the UK and many seem to indicate there's a new revision on the way.
  7. I crashed my Wot4 Foam E yesterday (pilot error) I went looking to buy another one today and most places are out of stock with a 'new version' underway?? Any clues as to wot will change in the V3 and wot date it will be available (sorry for the aweful puns lol)
