  1. If this does indeed turn into a celebration of PM and his designs (and it looks very likely), then my decison has been made for me, for 3 years ago at the Nats I bought the plans and laser cut kit for the T31M and it has sat there ever since looking not so lonely in the corner, about time I got around to it
  2. John it doesn't really matter now, the ball is rolling with the celebrated designer idea, and I am more than happy to go with that, obviously my idea for the MB didn't appeal to anyone hence no comments about it, and it's pointless upsetting the apple cart now as most involved are set on the idea. I also cast my vote for PM, a well deserved designer IMHO.
  3. I agree completely Levanter, the whole idea of celebrating a modellers contribution is a fantastic one, and Tim's idea breaths new life into the mass build and I can't see why the mass build can't follow his format, it gives builders a longer period in which to get something complete, and the cut off date for the "competition" part of it works, but if you decide you don't want to be part of the competition but still want to be part of the mass build, that cut off doesn't even come into it. The thing I don't understand is if both MB idea an Tim's idea are one of the same (except for dates) why people have to argue about it, and thats the part I want no part of, I have cast my vote in favour of PM, so lets see where the vote goes, roll out our plans and roll up our sleeves and get balsa bashing, THAT'S what it's all about!
  4. I didn't mean you Rich, I was just refering to all the negative vibe so far on this thread towards it, a discussion/debate is healthy, not just knocking someone for making a suggestion, like I say, I'll return when the dust settles
  5. I agree Rich, but I wouldn't hold your breath, I put an idea forward (whether good or bad) but not a dickie bird has been said, Tim has put an idea forward and been shot down, i'll just wait untill the dust has settled and be dictated to what I have to build if I can be bothered.
  6. Further to my post and following a discussion with Peter, I am happy to announce that Peter is willing to supply me with any DXF files that I need to produce laser cut ribs and formers. Most models will be covered in this. There are some exceptions though, in fair play to RCM&E (and anyone else who may already supply laser kits) I will not produce any parts for commercially available items. So if RCME supply a laser cut kit for a design you want, I will not do it, and Peter will not supply the files for any of these models either so please don't ask in the nature of fair play.
  7. Hi Bob, just read your PM and thought I would answer it here so every has the info, I can cut a set of ribs for pretty much anything that is asked for, but bear in mind I have to get hold of a 1:1 scan of the plan, redraw everything in CAD before I can start cutting, this would would put me up there in the £20- odd bracket as well and if everyone picked a different PM model, thats a lot of work, if however 1 model was chosen I would be more than happy to do the CAD work for free and the cutting at a shared rate, saving quite a significant amount, but personally I can't see everyone agreeing on one design. If on the other hand anyone else wanted to volunteer to produce the CAD files and send them to me I would again do the cutting for minimal costs, the CD work is the killer, time wise, as I have so much on the go at the moment I would really struggle.
  8. I did notice a minor alteration there Phil, As of yet I cannot do any work in the lab, but hopefully when I get the all clear tomorrow I will, it's going to take weeks to get over properly, but as long as doc says I am ok to resume tomorrow then I can start to get on with things.
  9. ...oh and I forgot my Precedent Stampe which I now have a motor for and my Oxalys needs fixing, saying that so does my visionaire
  10. Well my winter is looking pretty busy as I have to; Sort Airsail kits - Auster .40, Auster 1/4 scale, Chipmunk, Gas Buggy, Skyroamer, Beaver, Tomahawk II, Evans Volksplane, Voltimer, Skeeta, SEA5a I also have a couple of large laser projects I need to finish, As well as sorting my own stuff - Spad VII 1/3 scale, Alby DVa 1/3 scale, Shackleton build, 200% Dawn Flyer, He111, another part build I aquired (I can never remember the name of it), another new aquisition which needs a refurb a Rawle Aviation Partner, sort the Goshawk out, plus my foamie glider and me109 need doing, oh and if I get a sec the Mass Build whatever that turns out to be Which winter was we finishing in?
  11. I have only just seen this tonight, in between being ill and work and ill again, but I was going to make the suggestion when the Mass Build was announced again, that maybe, we could set the parameters of the build to one of the free plans in RCME from January to December, therefore giving everyone a choice of 12 models straight off the bat, all current and of interest and fresh in peoples minds (ish), it would also mean people would hold off building intill January when they have had time to consider all 12 options for the year. Having said that, I have no objections to a single designer catagory either Just a thought
  12. You can see some of my pics of the day here on my facebook page, they are split into ground and flying shots **LINK** **LINK**
  13. Absolutely fantastic day, thanks guys, next time I will bring n fly, those oatcakes were awesome
  14. There's life in the old bird yet, but I'm not counting my chickens
  15. Trust Mr redshaw, if he doesn't know, nobody does
  16. I quite like this one, it's a bit different, but not sure if it's an aces colours can't quite make out the tail numbers
  17. The basic regs are, very good stand off scale, all hand painted markings and insignia (no decals or vinyl), and in the colours of a WWI ace, cover those and you should be fine.
  18. Right I thought it was about time I got something finished, so have been tinkering and making some exhaust pipes for the "leccy" V8 that is installed Crude, simple, but effective I think. The motor is going in next and then the radiator grille will be fitted
