  1. I've stuck together a hybrid sort of thing, using a John Smith (or is it Dave?) fuselage and an ARC Cardinal wing . Its almost ready to test fly, but I dont know where the balance point should be. Can any Cardinal owner help? Many thanks if you can.   Colin B
  2. I'll maybe just have a go at that Phil, ta again for your response /advice, regards Colin B
  3. Hi Phil, ta for your response. I cant get the suggest a model feature to work, hence the post in this thread yesterday. I just thought that it would be easier all round if readers could just print and post their reviews rather than suggest a model for review, get it ok'd by David, and then do the review. But anyway, as you say, I'll just half to be patient! regards Colin B
  4. I'd like to do a review on the Sig Rascal 110", but cant get Sig to come up on the  brands list, despite there being a Sig 40 review already posted. David , isn't it possible to simplify the review process by just typing in the  make/model etc?  It frustrates a computer simpleton like myself  when thwarted by what I'm sure is no problem to someone who knows what they're about. Best regards Colin B
  5. Missed last month's shotty, but I promise to buck up! I'm in to win.
  6. David, Eric, Timbo, Brian, Many thanks for your quick responses, I'm a lot happier about the situation now. It would seem to do eventual harm to the connectors, but other than that,no problem.  David, once I've got this Rascal110 flying, I'll submit a review on it.
  7. Hi guys, I'm presently fitting out  a sig rascal 110, with electric power. I have an axi 5330/24 motor with a jeti advance 90 opto speed controller installed. Power comes from two sharkpower 3700 5s batteries in series. This gives about 41 volts when fully charged. My problem/worry is that when I go to test run everything, I switch on transmitter, then radio power, then when i connect the power cable (positive) to the speed controller a fairly fat spark is given off at the point where the 4mm plugs first touch. Is this normal? The motor runs fine and all seems well, but that big noisy spark doesnt seem right. Can anyone advise? many thanks in advance. Colin B.
  8. If at first ye dinnae succeed, puull yer..........kilt ower yer heid! We hae plenty seagulls up in these pairts, But nae mony Texans! Please  (again) David?
  9. 12 hundred to 1 are terrible odds, but you never ever should say never ever. I'm in please?
  10. Thanks YakMad, I'll have a squint at those.
  11. By the way Timbo, ive tried to put a pic  on top of that very dark person over on the right but it always tells me that it has failed because my pic has more than 12kb. Can I downgrade my pic to suit ,or does it require a new pic altogether?
  12. Timbo, I cant agree with you that the site was rubbish, it suited me pop on. I'll admit that my style of buying ( switch/ phone) may be Ark ish but it does work very well, and speaking to the supplier can reap rewards which may not be apparent  via internet only.
  13. I'm sure that  John  E. is happy with his new site, but I did prefer it the way it was . Maybe I just dont like change. But most importantly I hope he never changes his staff, I'd say they could not be bettered.
  14. Many thanks YakMad,  can I scrounge more info from you,,.... how do I get onto US forums? Excuse my internet ignorance, its my age you know! Ive seen the Ripmax video, and it does seem to fly quite fast, perhaps it has to. Colin
  15. Has anyone out there bought / assembled / flown  the Ripmax supplied  hercules yet? I am sorely tempted to go for this one,but it 's a lot of pennies to lay out on something that I have no knowledge of. RCM Flyer did a review of it this March / April, but I'm still wary. Being Scots may have something to do with this. I am all electric at this time, but cant help thinking  that a 100" herc would have to have 4 OS 26/30's in it to sound right. I'd appreciate views from anyone who flys one. Thanks in advance.  Colin
  16. Hi David, Cracking prize you've got there, count me in! There seems to be an early and large response to this one.The odds are going sky higher by the minute. mutter mutter.
  17. Is this thread really the goon show mk.2?
  18. Myron, Chris, my wife tells me that I've been getting grumpier this last couple of years, and she is probably quite right. But I wont let her know about your theory, it could jeapordise my wonderfull old "Moby"! Colin
  19. For hauling 'planes, my "Moby" cant be beaten. Its a1991 Hymer 544 motorhome,on a Fiat Ducato chassis. I can even carry my Svist (2.7m span) assembled, ready to fly, with no problem. All home comforts are built in . Its fully the bees knees.
  20. This is the 203rd post on this one, thats not bad odds on me winning. Well so far anyway. Suspect it might get a bit worse though.
  21. Hello David, I shouted for the C130 last year (to no avail) but I see there a couple of votes for this one already, so i'll second them........ 1.  C130 Hercules 2.  Canberra  3.  Long EZ. All electric please!
