  1. I have 2 Laser 70's they were in my Seagull Mosquito which I am now converting to electric. They have less than 2 hours running from new. They are in good used condition. I am asking £150 each ono plus postage.
  2. Firstly Happy Christmas everyone. My new wings have just arrived from Seagull, I only ordered 1 but both arrived. So I started to strip the wreckage and have fund the mechanical retracts damaged beyond repair, can anyone recommend any electrical retracts to replace them. Many thanks Mike

  5. Hi Jon, The engines were great at least on the video, poor though it is, you can hear the great sound. many thanks.
  6. Very poor videos of first flight https://youtu.be/kyYhCZ2qI3k
  7. Hi all, It was maiden day today, unfortunately it didn't go that well, firstly it pulled heavily to the left taxying so I had to increase the rudder movement, once the tail wheel lifted off it straightened up ok. Flew well could probably do with a bit of downthrust on the engines. Landing was a different story it dropped a wing when it was about 3 meters of the ground, broke the left hand wing into quite a lot of pieces, repairable. A little damage to the right hand wing, broke the engine mount and pulled the undercarriage leg out. I am going to ask Seagull if they could supply me with a LH wing. Everything else is fine . I guess I came in too slow!!!
  8. Hi, I ran the Lasers for the first time yesterday all seems good, no big trouble to balance them. I am off to Spain for the winter so I will maiden it there https://www.club-cr.es/. anyway took a short video of the engine run. https://youtu.be/rQXNQVVK0Lc
  9. It is a tight fit but I think it will work.
  10. Hi Chris, I collected my 2 Laser 70s on Thursday from Jon, and I am now starting to mockup the installation, I think it will fit without moving the bulkhead although it will be tight. Any thoughts after having done all the work?
  11. Can anyone help, I lost a wheel in flight with my Citabria and when I landed the prop touched down as well and has damaged the front bulkhead does anyone have the plan and can send me the drawing of this part, everything else is perfect. Many Thanks Mike
  12. Hi Andy, Mine has been all finished for over 2 months now but I have been too busy or the weather has been bad so I have still not flown it. How are you getting on, have you flown it yet? Mike
  13. I fly mine on an OS 91 fourstroke, but that is more than enough power, I would have thought a 70 would be fine.
  14. Hi ARC, I bought one in the same sale but I have not had time to finish it yet, I have built it as instructions, Seagull seam to have different length centimeters to us but other than that, it is progressing well, I am using a ASP 120 4stroke, what about you, and have you flown it yet? Mike
  15. I would like to see   Mosquito Hawker Fury Stinson Reliant   Mike
  16. Yes, I have built many, and designed a few which have flown well. When I have time I am going to build a big Mossy, at least 109" wing span. but this will do for now.
  17. I have just bought an old CAP kit of a Mosquito. Has anybody built this kit or have any advice to offer, all info gratefully received. Mik
  18. My favorite plane, I want one, if I don't win I'll just have to buy one!!
  19. Does anybody know where I can download  CAD drawings of rc engines, if not maybe we should start a site to build an online library.
  20. I have another problem, after a collision with a ceraeal box the tail rotor motor has stopped working. It has power to it so it is not a broken wire. Does anyone know where to get a spare or is it a throw away. Mike

    RCV 58CD

Having read the article, I thought people might be interested in my experiences with this engine. I bought a supposedly slightly used engine on ebay, it arrived very clean and apart from one fin near the plug being bent it looked good. I fitted it to a VMAR Extreme Stik, I ran it rich for the first few flights and it was ok, but didnt have much compression, and a lot of oil came out of the crankcase breather. After 8 hours of flying with many dead sticks and performance getting worse I decided to return it to RCV. They checked it out and told me the engine was 4 years old and was fairly worn, and a rebuild would cost almost as much as a new engine, so I decided to just put it it another plane and use it until it would not run anymore. However a short time later RCV called me and offered a brand new engine at half price, I obviously accepted staight away. This really is a very honorable company who stand by their products even when the fault has nothing to do with them. I will certainly buy more engines for them.
