I've got a Saito 125 in a Goldberg Ultimate mounted inverted - the engine that is. Always been running it on 12-15% nitro fuel with synthetic oil, lately using Optifuel 12%. It is the best engine I've ever had. Always starts easily and runs like a dream with a APC 16x4W propeller. The idle is superb and low and plenty of power. I've also got a piece of fuel tubing on the breather nipple about 10 cm long and never noticed any issues with it in the last 10 years I've been running the engine. - Thomas

Hi again Robin, Good to see you on here as well. I took delivery of the plans and Sarik cut shortkit for the DH90 last week. I am impressed with the plans you have drawn up and can't wait to get started on it. Not sure if it will fit on my building board, but that's a worry for another day. I just hope I'll be able to travel to the UK later this year or early next year and get up and close with G-AEDU. Unfortunately it will be a little while before I can start on it as I've still got the last few details on the BT Tempest to finish off, and later this week I expect a delivery of a Laser 200 kit from Italy that my son will be building (with a bit of help from me I hope) which will be jumping the queue. I've started to look for my next scale project (even if my Brian Taylor Hawker Tempest MkV is yet to be finished). While I've not yet to decided I'm leaning towards the majestic DH 90 Dragonfly which Robin Fowler has done a 86" span sized plan for. As there doesn't seem to be any online build logs of this model, the only other place I know it has been featured is in the December 2010 RC Model World magazine. I'm sure I had that mag back in 2010, but it looks to have been lost to the wifes cleanup tasks at some point. I'm hoping someone on this forum has a copy copy of this magazine that would be willing to scan the pages covering this model and email me a copy?

The Ridge Rover is a good model for its age. I managed to swap a nitro model for a Ridge Rover in my early flying days in the late 80s. It hasn't flown very much since then, but it has had a few outings. I modified mine 2 years ago with a brushless motor upfront as the wings did not seem to be made for winch launces. Last winter I started on some more modifications: - Install rudder servo in the tail - Install aileron servors in the wing to be able to get rid of the clutter in the fuse and provide more room for battery. Unfortunately the air breaks on mine have developed a fault on one side so I've covered them over with sellotape. Since it is a fast model to land without airbreaks I will try and use "up aileron"/spoiler once it gets back in the air, which will hopefully be this summer. I calculated the CG to be around 12.5 cm fromt he LE at root. - Thomas

Have you been able to complete the maiden yet? I hope you're able to find a way to get it to lift of on your grass stip. I bought the EDF plans myself about 1,5 year ago and have been keen to start the build, but my hobby room is a bit on the small side for this model. Its difficult to resist though. I fly of a grass strip myself and don't have access to any concrete runways. Might be able to use the harder part of our strip as we share the field with full size gliders, and the main strip is fairly hard packed soil, although a bit on the bumpy side.
