  1. Frank, thats yet more reassuring to know. I still havnt heard back from corona yet but i have all the info i need now. Many thanksEdited By Rob43 on 14/05/2016 17:23:24
  2. I have just checked here. Its 138 pounds at the european warehouse,in stock and 9.79 pounds to post it to a uk address. Hope that helps
  3. Hi Peter and thanks for the reply You make some sensible points here, very well presented! I had intended to use all the same servos so as not to have a voltage mismatch and I had looked previously too at the rx voltage too as I had noted that the orange 9ch rx i am intending to use is rated from 3.7 to 9.6 volts so i always knew I would be operating that well within its safe range. This sets my mind at rest anyways and Im happy to go ahead this way. Thanks again for the input
  4. Maybe its possible to move the motor forward to help out a bit to remove some of the added weight?
  5. Sojust to update. I did email corona, three days have passed and not had any reply so far. Oh well im not in a hurry i suppose lol
  6. Hi Andy So how are you powering these servos, are you doing it directly from a lipo or are you using a voltage regulator and if do what voltage do you use?
  7. Good idea i think, i will give them an email in the morning. Got thier email from the website. There is no rush to use them now, im just planning ahead for a build i will do in a couple of months time.
  8. Jason, for me either with tubing or a ply built standoff. Either way will allow you to maintain your thrust line as per original. It looks really difficult (from the photo) to measure your thrustline and if your tubes are all exactly equal length then it will be the same as the bulkhead (assuming your old motor was mounted square to this beforehand) equally if you built a ply box this can be made exactly square negating the need for the long bolts and taking out the doubt. Maybe its not responible for all the problems but maybe a contribution. Anyone else agree with this?
  9. Just a thought. I see from your photo Jason, that you have made up a motor standoff from some quite long bolts without any tubes etc. How secure and rigid is this mounting? Is it twisting and moving under torque or loading and possibly influencing the behaviour of the model? Like i say, just a thought maybe. . .
  10. I have some corona DS339HV servos. On the side of the box ot says that they are rated at 7.4 volts. No minimum operating volts is written on the box. I had intended to run them off of a 2s lipo but this fully charged will be at 8.4 volts. Are they designed to be run this way or should i be using an sbec, although the ones i have been looking at seem to have either 5 or 6 volt output. Can anyone say from experience if i should be running them through an sbec off the 2s lipo or am i able to run from the 2s lipo directly? Thanks all
  11. When i click on this link it simply states that the listing has been removed or has ended without showing you any products.
  12. If i have the time, the space, all the right parts, and all the correct tools, then i dont dislike any of it.
  13. I agree with ganster here. I am/have been learning/progressing over the last couple of years, i started on 3 ch models then moved to aileron models (hobbyzone cub on 3ch hobbyzone aeronica champ on 3ch then hobbyking axn floater jet, hobbyking mini ez master on ailerons). What I would say is that if you are going to buy the easystar first and fly this with ailerons then there would be little point in my view building your chapter one 3ch, so as gangster said build it with an aileron wing. Opinion differs but for me I found it easier to start with rudder only as its not really possible to roll the model on its side or inverted by mistake whereas ailerons will allow this if you input too much aileron trying to turn, that said i understand many people learn to fly ailerons from the start and i see nothing wrong with that especially if your going to get help from the club with some buddy box instruction. For me, I taught myself and found 3ch best for me. If you look around there are still a few 3ch models around, but radios are much more cheaply available now and tend to have more channels available as a minimum and the more channels you have the longer it will be usefull to you as you progress using more complicated models
  14. David, why not just buy a cheap orange tx from Hobbyking?
