Am I alone in thinking it was faked, a clever fake yes but being ealistic noone least odf all the CAA would have granted permission for a rocket of that size to be launched

Spackle is just american term for pre mixed filler used to smooth out the rough surface of epp models, you can obtain good results by thinning lightweight polyfiller with water to a cream consistency and applying it with a brush then rubbing down.
