  1. Have you considered an asp? My asp 40 powered my trainer, as well as a few other planes. It's a great engine and requires a little run in time. Since then, its needed very little tuning and has been rock solid. Now, i dont remember, exactly, but it wasn't expensive by any means. And ive been using it for 2 years sold now. Great investment.
  2. We have a blacktop runway, and we keep an equal width strip of grass next to the blacktop mowed short to serve as a second runway. The grass serves as a easier runway to land on. We use the blacktop to take off with. Gains speed much faster.
  3. Hi everyone. I have a question about my sig. I have a 4 star 60 and im not quite sure whats going on. The sig is a low wing and I thought i had it trimmed until i came in for.a.landing. why would it fly straight in the air, and try to roll on me while landing and at idle? Any suggestions? Thanks. Todd
  4. I certainly hope not all women are against flying. I don't want to think that all ill have to look at is us old ugly guys at the field all the time!
  5. Oh, and i learned how to build and cover planes with that aerostar as it was a kit, not an arf. That's why it took me a year to get it in the air.
  6. You know you also dont have to pay full retail for your things. I'm on a budget, so when i started looking for my trainer, I went to eBay. I was patient, and ended up getting a Midwest aerostar 40 for $57 shipped. Bought my dx7 used as well as my ar7000. To put that plane in the air with quality equipment, it took approx. $400 that included plane, electronics, flight box and fuel. There are so many resources out there other than retail stores. And the way I look at it, I have the rest of my life to enjoy this hobby, if it takes a year to get started by doing it this way, so be it. It's either this way, or rush out to the lhs and take a small mortgage out only to decide you dont like it and be stuck with a ton of stuff your going to loose your pants on trying to resell it. Wait, thats where i come in! On second thought.......lol
  7. I would love to come over for a fun fly! Mabey a little later in life, Lol. That would require a large approval from the boss! Thanks dean. I love the way your 4 star 60 looks. Think ive found my fall project. I tried to post on your thread, but couldnt figure out how to until i messaged you. But anyway, thanks for all the welcomes!
