  1. DHC2 Beaver perhaps. Aircraft Restoration Co have one at Duxford.
  2. I have had four deliveries from them in the last two months. No problems with any of them. Three were from the UK warehouse and one from Hong Kong. Hong Kong delivery was unexpected but item was out of stock in UK.
  3. Notorious? I don't think so. It was Churchill who said: “The fighters are our salvation but the bombers alone provide the means of victory” and look at what he did to Bomber Command. It is no surprise that the politicians of today cannot be trusted. It is seldom mentioned that the USAAF was scheduled to bomb Dresden on the 13th February but did not do so due to bad weather. The RAF bombed that night. The following day 316 B17s dropped 771 tons of bombs on Dresden, mostly using H2X (inaccurate with wide dispersal) aiming due to smoke and cloud cover over the City. The USAAF then bombed Dresden again (using H2X) on the 15th with 211 aircraft using 465 tons of bombs. Follow up raids by the USAAF took place on March 2nd (406 B-17s/940 tons HE/141 tons of Incendiaries) and April 17th (580 B-17s/1554 tons HE/165 tons of Incendiaries).
  4. Hi Gary - go to the App Store and type RCM&E into the Search field (I used the "featured"option at the bottom of the App Store window). RCM&E App should be displayed. Download as normal. It should then appear on one of your Ipad pages. No different to sny other App installation. Ignore the square box with arrow. It only seems to add a bookmark on the last page of your Apps. If you are reading your post plus any replies you can see the square box with arrow at the top of this window. This is he process I used on my Ipad. Hope this helps.
  5. This is a marvellous Museum, run by the Panton family, and well worth the entrance fee. The On-board experience is something that stays with you. Visits are very special for me and my family as my father flew from East Kirkby as a Navigator with 630 Squadron in 1944. He was shot down on his 16th mission but evaded capture with three other crew members. One broke his hip on landing and was captured. Sadly one of the gunners failed to get out of the aircraft and the other was killed as his parachute failed to open. Dad was delighted to be able to go back with me in 2005 as I was booked on the Taxi-run as a Birthday present. When Fred and Harold spoke to my father they insisted that he also went on board as their guest. A tremendous thrill for him to sit at his Navigator station and find everything was where he remembered it. And to share his experiences with them and other visitors.
  6. They recently had a break-in and lost £20K of stock. They are open again but have had to shed staff so are looking for volunteer assistance to man the counter while they attend to the charity boats. Certainly friendly and useful shop.
  7. If you ever get the chance I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Old Rheinbeck. Wonderful entertainment and good value. The work they do on these wonderful old aircraft is amazing. Check out the hangers with "retired"aircraft. Last time I was there they flew an Antoinette, a Bleriot, a Curtiss Pusher , Sopwith Camel, an Albatross plus a number of later (1930's) aircraft. Hilarious routine with a Piper Cub and a WW1 veteran or an old Farmer. Have a look at their website and if you are near New York this is a place to make an effort to get to. Just north of Poughkeepsie on Route 9. Something for all the family.
  8. I have recently complete a Flair Sunrise - my first built-up kit in 30 years! Made a few mistakes as I had to relearn how to read a plan and make sense of the instructions. No laser-cut parts in this kit! However it flies well and will be good practice for the next two larger soarers at 118" and145". Logo was photocopied: and converted to:

  21. I have a 10 year Desktop with XP. Hard Drive has been upgraded and fans have been replaced. It runs a bit slow but I can just about keep up with it. Still use it for most Word Processing. Also have a Gaming Laptop with Windows 7. This is used for photographs etc and general activities. However an IPad is now our favoured Internet tool. They are all linked up via WiFi to an Internet connected hard Drive where all photos and documents are kept. This can be accessed from anywhere in the world as long as there is a WiFi facility. Can even access it from our Smart TV. Trying hard not to be defeated by technology.
