  1. Does the standard throttle fail safe work on Futaba's? I bought the "Orange" receiver only to find it doesn't, and the servo sockets are slightly narrower making the plugs too cramped!! In the end I couldn't bring myself to risk it....Rich
  2. Hi Percy, thanks for the input, I have heard nothing but praise for all the Pulse variants. I had the maiden flight on Sat last and it was great, it flew a treat with the 23 - it seems to be good match, if a little nose heavy. With a modern, light, 110/120 it will be perfect. Rich
  3. I deliberately fly both. Why does the prevailing wind determine the circuit? Once you're up you can go anywhere...  Do most clubs dictate the direction? Edited By Dickster on 22/04/2013 19:40:59
  4. My 30 year old Veron Tiger Moth, not currently flying but just because it is the only one that survived from the old days. Very docile flyer...Rich
  5. yes, i think you can buy purpose made fittings, but on mine i took the vent pipe out of the bottom of the plane. Rich
  6. I agree re electric flight, but NIMH!!!!? Great view btw, I'm not that close to my flying site, but i could walk there.... Rich ps interesting results, those are huge numbers.
  7. also, if it was nose heavy it wouldn't fly with the tail down, would it? personally in the past 30 odd years i have always marked the correct cog position and checked with the fingertip method - i bought a great planes fancy bit of kit years ago but never got on with it - and it has never failed me, and work from there...Rich
  8. I'm surprised that you have never touched the needle as well!! I would normally tune, and then carry out the nose up test...Rich
  9. Doesn't sound like the cog is correct? If it was nose heavy it would need down elevator inverted? Sounds tail heavy..I just maidened my Pulse and I had to trim in up elevator because it is nose heavy  - I knew it nose heavy when i checked the cog (tried moving the battery as back as possible, but I have a heavy Zenoah 23 up front. 10. Great thread, thanks for sharing. Love that motor as well, any install pics?! Rich
  11. Superb, loved reading about it. Rich
  12. Was still quite windy but the sun was shinning and I finally got to maiden my Pulse 125XT, also my first petrol model (Zenoah 23) - who said they weren't messy!! Flew great, and note the 5" wheels as I fly from a farmers field!

  15. Yes, its not rocket science. I'm in business and I would always go the extra mile for a client if something goes wrong. Edited By Dickster on 19/04/2013 20:59:40
  16. No but..... my mate is (we flew r/c together - obsessed - 30 odd yrs ago), and he flies from Headcorn - he's flying us to France and Jersey next weekend.... Rich Edited By Dickster on 19/04/2013 14:42:41
  17. I'll have to check out the location. I'm near Brands - Concorde MFC is 5 mins away, but its not a great location, and I believe Bickley is nearby... a friend of mine is a farmer and he kindly gave me a great field to fly from (share with sheep!), the only problem is that its a bit rough so I tend to hand launch. I am hoping to maiden a larger petrol model on Sat and that has 5" wheels which will hopefully cope! I did join a new club near Wrotham a couple of years back, and that used a private airfield but unfortunately it (the club) was subject to a police investigation and soon disbanded.....I believe. I left when Maidstone CID called me and informed me that my BMFA subs had not been paid by the club....
  18. I thought the thread was going in a different direction! That's great to hear - i just ordered a DLE20...
  19. Great job, and I thought you'd sprayed it! Good luck with the maiden, Sat looks fine so far - I'm hoping to maiden as well......
  20. Slope soaring is definitely something I want to try....
  21. Yes, they should make sure that you are not inconvienced - customer service!
