  1. FAV MODEL?   now, thats a bit of a question,  i dont think i have one,   i find, after flying many, that there are not that many quirks between them,  Wot 4s bore me, 3D is beyond me,   Warbirds are my thing,    but my most flown model is my well worn YT rush,    this is about to be pentioned off,   but, as a hack, its well cabable,  more than i am,  its going to be replaced with an iconic xl,     currently on the board is the new YT P47 thunderbolt& the new Stuka,  all 82" of it,     i think with its character, i will enjoy it,       i have many older models that have not seen light of day  in a Long while,   i consider them old friends,   now and again, i bring one out,   and blow the dust off,       I much prefer the crack, down at the field with a select few,     many times i go to the field, and just instruct, or watch, or test fly,     never get bored,   promised myself i will do more flying this year,  having just joined sarmsbury club, and having access to lots of lovely tarmac,  this will give me the chance to get my other warbird serviced, or finished, and take advantage of this facility   i also like old time aerobatic models,   bullets, tornados, curaries,   i have the first 2 doing a re-birth,  the last one i stupidly sold 2 years ago,
  2. i test flew a goldberg cub just 2 weeks ago,      power was a saito 60 flat twin,   V nice,    only thing that sticks out on the berg cub (literally!!!) is the main spar,   you can always tell this model by this,   it just seems to be --noticable,  i think there is also a mod to building it as a clipped wing cub, this would be my choice,   same cub looks, but aerobatic to boot!!   model is a wealth of  bludgeoned out light ply parts,  inclduing full length fuzz sides,  it isnt what i would call LIGHT, but seems to cope,   your 52 would look nice sidemounted, with a dummy engine on the other side (get a scrap motor, and cut it up)       another GREAT cub to build, but a tad bigger, is the DB models cub,  at 80",its a builders paradise,    i think the newer kits are now laser cut,  rather than bludgeoned out, as the older kits where,    they have a web site, and, THEIR BRITISH you know  traditional balsa build,    this would be my model of choice, for a standard cub,  but could be modified to clipped (i like clipped cubs!!) 3. gawd,     i cant even get piccys on the r/cflyers forum,     head goes into meltdown,    but, its a bullet,  tissued and doped, and painted in a HORRID   yellowy colour,    its being flatted, and painted red, with starsky and hutch stripes,  as per box top,   but its low down on the importance list,
  4. hope to be of  help,     but i havnt done learning yet,  thats the best thing about this game,  you can never never claim you know everything
  5. HI name is ALAN CANTWELL,   been looking in for a while,   thought it was time to say Hello,    been flying for 40 years,  started at 8,  found out what these things in skirts were all about, and BEER  drifted away, got married, got bored, and came back with a vengeance,      own TOOOO many planes,  (is that possible?)   you will see me at the shows, working the YTinternational stand,     managed to get son into the game,  pinnacle of his flying was winning funfly class,1,  then, he sold up  maybe one day, he will return, just like me,     May i wish you happy flying, and may all your landings be the right way up,
  6. Not only do i have a cressy bullet,  but i also have a brand new 40 fsr to go under the bonnet   re the yammy,   the heavy one mentioned could probably be the fibre glass version,   wing span toooo short,  heavy as hell,     homing instincts of an anvil when throttled back,      they did a revision of the model, the new yammy 2    surpise surprise,    bigger wingspan   i also have, on the bench, a stripped down cressy Tornado,    2 planes, being madover, and a 61 FSR amd hanno pipe to go in it,   NICE!!  soon as have got all the crud off the wings
  7. the ply you describe are the packing pieces,  because  its IMPOSSIBLE to cater for all instalations, we put them in as pieces, to be added to, or taken away as wanted          flap horns are standard items, other ply pieces will be hardpoints for cowls, canopys etc,    could you go to the R/C flyers forum, to the YT section, look at the mustang thread, where one is being built,   by nicostoffi,    there is a close up of the steerable tailwheel there,  is this the same as yours?
  8. All these points have been passed to the factory,  they will be acted on,    unlike other companies we have a huge input into our designs,   the factory has actually had a rolocking,     the updated manual is being worked on,     when did you spot you actually had the amendments?      i will get the tialwheel and flap stuff sorted ASAP,         as a matter of interest,   the  horns etc are only there if you want to use them--i dont, i make mine out of fibre glass board,    i recently had some made for me though,  time pressures  and all that,   email me again, and i will send you the drawings,    i make them out of scrap PC boards,   cut out with a tile cutter file,     on the bottom, is a tongue,  simply cut a slot, and glue them in,  much nicer than having the standard horn,
  9. well i will now ask what i asked in the email i sent we have opened a kit, looked at the manual,  and  although the old stuff is there, the new stuff is also there in an amendment,  the factory says no kits have gone out WITHOUT that amendment     we are re-doing the manual so the old stuff is removed,   this will be available on a download          but i cannot understand what has happened with this kit??
  10. i sent you an email from the RCU site, about the manual,  did you recieve it?     We found all the new stuff in the manual when we opened a kit up, it was in there as an amendment, and the info about plumbing the retracts is there too,  unfortunatly, they have kept the info for the old model in there, so, we are chopping and cutting the manual, to remove all the old stuff, and keep the up to date stuff,     In about ten days time, the new revised manual will be on our website,  it will be down loadable,   i will look into the tailwheel thing for you,    in the spit, its a new version, and is steerable,
  11. we will email anything you need,   and any parts you need, we will send--within reason,  when are you back in the UK?
  12. now tell me, in all sincerity,   where can you get this quick response?       when the problem was realised, we all had a late night,    regarding your other issues,   i will invesigate them,   i am just putting the P47 and corsair together, so far, everything is tickedoo boo,     these are the best mass produced warbirds on the planet,    i hope you report back when yours is flying,   me thinks you will like it
  13. seen this,    obviously, we have a manual problem,   working to sort it out, back soon,  sorry about this
  14. there will be a site layout map,   contact the office, they should be able to point you in the right direction,  as for the weather,  we stole it from other shows, and saved it up
  15. yes,  surprising the amount of folk looking for us on the 2.4 line,     2 lines next year, one with a buddy box set up, if i get the gear given me you hold the honour of the first ever plane on the 2.4 line--i should have had a trophyready!!
  16. thanks Shaun regarding Top Gun,.    it was the intent that, unlike the american TG, this prize went to the best DISPLAY pilot,     and watching Ian, he deserved it,    the thing was real, and a deffo crowd pleaser,    with my other head on, in YT international sales,   i am pleased to report that YT display pilots, (although not neccasarily with YT planes)  won 5 major trophies at TG, 3 of them where the highest,       NICE ONE GUYS!! Ian, mr TG, is our warbird designer,   his models are simply, works of art,  the Bipe he won with was a 1.3rd sopwith pup,    and he is a member of the DAWN PATROL--a like minded bunch, all commited to displaying 1/3rd scale WW1, round the shows,
  17. 2998 it is!!!!   the post is to be handed down through the family,              OK, COME ON, who moved me 000 button????????????????????
  18. Glad you all enjoyed yourself, mention has been made of the 2.4 line i invented, if all goes well, there will be 2 lines next year, one with a trainer and buddy box, i thanks the guys for bringing models along, and to the guys who stated they did not know of such a line, READ YOUR BMFA NEWS!!!, and yes, the wot was astonishing, thanks also to the green air guys, such simple fun foamy jets, we should all have one, the hangar flying was well under control, the simple lectric flew 40 mins on the hour, free flight and rubbber for 20 mins, oh how things change eh? shocky arena was well recieved, giving some of the show line crew chance to let their hair down, ALI M, was grinning like a cheshire cat all night!! swap meet sunday? DONT go there, that thing was the bane of my weekend, if i have anything to do with it, it will be the bank holiday MONDAY swapmeet next year, and i wont have anything to do with it!! 175 tables laid out from 5.30, to 07.30 damned hard work, and some of the comments from those outside where nothing short of a disgrace!!!            still, modellors eh? to those who came and enjoyed, come again, to those who came, and rammed toilet rolls down the bogs, dont come again, 3 times i had to close the bogs, three times i had to call the emergancy sludge gulper out, and three times it cost of YOUR subs to get it sorted, well, heres to next year ALAN HANGAR MANAGER, AND 2.4 GH LINE INVENTOR, Nats 2998
  19. nice to see the insult to chris bromley gone, can i now ask that ALL relavant posts to this are got rid of? including my own? the point about impersonation has been made, no need to spoil the forum for it thanks
  20. we have, on the katana thing, recieved the wing bolt, many thanks, martin will be in touch,
  21. i understand you have already phoned wilson at midday, and we are sending new wings out? we need feedback like this, you tell us, we send the compliant STRAIGHT to the factory, an email about this has already been sent, also, of coarse, we need to see the wing, the human error is something we are trying to eliminate, thus the switch to all composite, where the parts will come out of the mold all the same shape without needing non-modelor workers sanding the structure, giving a perfect result every time, this technology has cost us a not to inconsiderate sum to mount, we just hope its apreciated, please let us have the wings ASAP and remember, even WE have friday afternoon wings!!!
  22. TRUST ME!!!! we have been busy, i wonder if you can possibly be aware of just how many contacts we get in a single week? never mind when we are away at a foreign show, if you are thinking we are bad boys for not returning your call, then sorry, we cannot be in 2 places at once, when your query is found, it will be delt with, the motions for this are now in motion, all customer correspondance has been put to one side until yours is found, but like i said, we have recieved no problems like you say, the hinges are used throughout the range, and have been succesfull, single bolts are used in SEVERAL others companys designs, if a bolt has failed, we need to see the bolt, this is normal procedure, we are here to help, please help us investigate this matter, only then can we do something about it, far from this aircraft being the bad boy you paint, i can provide many glowing testaments from buyers,, it is always possible to have a fault in a part, this should not damn the aircraft, apart from this, our aircraft are designed by us, tested by us, and flown by us, we do NOT look in a big glossy catologe, and order someone elses gear, we stand by what we design, this we will do in this case, if there is a fault, it will be sorted, now then, where is the bolt?
  23. oh dear, not a happy customer, i am very sorry you have had grief in this way, let me start by stating WE DO NOT IGNORE CUSTOMERS!!! on our website, we give a link to the r/cflyers forum, where we have a strong presence, and can answer questions quicker than you can shake a stick, basically, we need to see the model, we have literally flown the ass of these things, and they have been a good seller, and recieved good review, i NEED to see the thing, if you can bring it to one of the shows, i will inspect it, and give an opinion, we PRIDE ourselves on our customer relations--they are second to non, as are our kits, ALAN YT SALES also, if you have sent a letter, we have been away at 2 shows in germany, and italy, only now are we getting stuck into the hundreds of mail enquires, both email, and snail mail, when we come across yours, we will be in touch
  24. We have no problem with the leaving out of the undercart, we do the same, although i use a stub to land on, we have sold lots of these cute little deltas, and generally, they have been well recieved, YT staff have several flying, one with a mega electric set-up, and so many lipos, we had to take the bulkheads out, this one was clocked at near( i am told) 200mph, with not a flutter in site, i would be VERY interested to know the set up in the model, is there any slop? hinge gap? if we need to make an amendment to the manual, we are not afraid to do so, as for the colour, well, i see it ok, but i would welcome views off guys who have flown it, and know if a little bit of brighter colour could be added, and were, we are ALWAYS open minded about our products, and ALWAYS seek ways of improvement only by talking to the customer, have we become so highly thought of, i know andy, he is a pal of mine, i will phone him, and have a chat ALAN, for YT INTERNATIONAL
