  1. Hello all. I've been "eavesdropping "on the cafe thread for a few months and have a minor problem with some of the photos posted. Most I can see but there are others that are just a framework with a red cross at top left . it's frustrating when others can obviously see them but not me. I did see on another thread that they may be deleted or a problem with java settings, but why can I see some and not others.   Thanks John
  2. Sold as a ready to fly model but it's not. this is not the problem.   Bought to take to the Brean flying holiday at the beginning of september. Had about ten trouble free flights then on the first flight on wednesday i plugged the battery into the socket and there was smoke and fire and the wiring burntout melting the plug!!! I managed to pull the battery out of the circuit. I thought i had managed to plug the battery into the polarised plug the wrong way round somehow.   On returning home I replaced the wiring and plug and socket and everything works ok. By chance I was browsing Ebay and saw another of these models for sale. the seller said that he had had the same problem!!   The plug/socket was the small red polarised type used on quite a few smaller electric models, I'm not sure what their called but my replacement was by Jamara. Has anyone else had this problem.   The model otherwise is excellent and flew really well even in the fairly stiff wind that seems to blow each year at Brean

Hi Nick.    my manual states that the LED will be solid green when  the RF signal is being sent. Have you tried rebinding the Rx to the Tx. not sure if this will help as mine was connected by the factory and I have only had to bind extra Rx's. see page 9 of the manual if you have it to hand. Hope this may help.   john
  4. sorry about typing errors. new laptop with offset keyboard to allow for numeric pad so keys not where they used to be.  My spelling is usually better too. John.
  5. Hi sorry not to reply before but changed topics. The u/ as supplied looked great but I adfmit it was my landing that tested it passed its design
  6. enjoyed putting this model together. The undercarriage is prebuilt from piano wire with strong springs for spreading the load, the model is fairly heavy for its size. on my first flight the model was quite badly out of balance so a landing was made. i missed the strip and landed in some loose soil used to fill a rut by the strip, this acted as an emergency brake stopping the model very quickly and taking out the u/c. on first inspection  not much damagejust broken joints on the various u/c members. back at the pits I found that two joints had sprung but the main member that the wheels fitted onto had snapped (approx 8 swg.) further inspection showed that all the various wire bits were spot welded together and where the break was coincided with a spot weld. It looks as if the welding had burnt into the wire leaving a weak spot.
