  1. Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Nooooooooo..... I do believe it and yes by the time someone completes it the craze will be over and the equipment onboard dated. I'd like to guess there next magazine in a few years will be a hoverboard lol
  2. It will take communities too become closer and stronger and to stop being afraid of youth's running amok and local crime. When the community stands as one and pushes the silly ones out that's when things will slowly start to change. Also more local funding and community meetings with the police and local workers will help keep people and those vulnerable a lot safer with updates on crime prevention and more public visibility . Forget a a piece of paper with a national helpline number! It should be local, a friend, neighbour or community officer. Yes the last thing we want to see is police at every corner but if we don't act now then sadly that could be the future. This works both ways as why are the criminals stealing in the first place? well money and addictions is the most common issue and they need much better support to stop this re-offending taking place in the first place. To attack anyone never mind someone so vulnerable in daylight is the lowest of low and lots of nets must of been bypassed to allow this person to commit such a vile crime(s). As before all the best for Alan and other silent victims Scott
  3. Yes Ken's thread highlights this sad and very unfortunate event for Alan and i hope he recovers from this and all the publicity but it also shows that there are many people with kind hearts still out there! Too the future for Alan and all the others who suffer in silence... Regards Scott
  4. Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum, have you any more information on what its for? airframe ect..... Have a look at this link. Hopefully it helps Scott **LINK**
  5. Thanks for sharing Ken. Yes sadly this is what's become of the world. I wish this gentleman the best for the future and the worst for the rodent who hurt this poor vulnerable man. Best wishes for the future. The world gets sicker every day. I thoroughly believe we must sort all our own issues before resorting to Syria and the likes. Our country needs to learn to stand on its own feet and then we can help others.
  6. Hi I've used reinforced fibre tape from Amazon with a 90 second epoxy brushed on before. Works a treat with the parkzone icon and Dynam Catalina. Use it only at the most vital points and weight gain is not noticeable. Good luck Scott
  7. Martin good man. I'm excited now! You must let us know when it arrives hehe Scott
  8. Yes it felt really good. Had a lovely scale feel. Could have had a little more thrust to fight the wind though it still fought it. Anyone know if the AGM propellers on eBay are ok? Was going to buy a few to try
  9. Its a Avio Mac 75 twin. I had prop failure a few days ago and about to order a new one. Was curious to see what the main difference would be. With the setup I had its was up within 20 feet. Not fussed about higher speed as its a very old cub. As long as it flies and isn't trying to hard I'd be happy
  10. Im needing a breakdown of what pitch would be best ect on a 24" prop. My original being a 24x6. I've seen a 24x12 for sale and not sure what the difference would be Thanks
  11. This is my first copy of RCME at 90p! Plan intact and some really nice reading! One of many right up to 2006. Will post a few interesting photos up of more, some very nice plans and aircraft Scott
  12. Hi Wingman I was up to 2011 at Kirknewton. I learnt to fly at Penicuik. I'll send them to both of these. I've always been a fan of east fortune as there runway is part of the motor racing track and the museum of flight is the backdrop! Thanks Scott
  13. Martin I'll have a look and see if I can find a dynaflite decathlon this side of the world. It certainly ticks you're box's
  14. The only twin rubber models I can find are the weight flyer and a dornier? I'm suspecting the weight flyer is you're choice? Since the Wright flyer first flew at Kittyhawke! Its a very small and fragile aircraft. I'm.not saying its impossible . possibly buy one of the many light indoor aircraft and work from there but it'd have to be light. If its the wright flyer you're speaking of?
  15. OK I'm going to make this simple. For the past few years I have taught many to fly on my father's spot of private land. Recently not surprisingly after Christmas there's been a lot of potential wannabe pilots well mostly fathers buying there's sons rtf from Santa wanting to fly!. At the moment I'm only able to commit to two beginners so I've recommended a couple of local (just outside Edinburgh) clubs. I've then had them return to say they've been told simply nope look elsewhere or we don't take beginner's!!! This is a major issue since 1- Will they attempt on there own? 2- Sell Santa's gift? 3- give the aeromodeling scene in Scotland a bad write up? One has recorded a club secretary telling them they can't just turn up with there rtf (which hadn't left the boot) and gave them a lecture mostly on fees they must pay before they can fly. Recently I've had feedback from many England based flying clubs that sound very old fashioned entertaining and fun. Are Scotland's dying out? I'm sure there is one near Dunfermline which is meant to be peaceful and open arms. I'm hoping someone can provide details of where beginner's can go and hopefully become part of the family. I'm trying to tell many that aeromodellers are happy friendly individuals whom want to share there passion where's I'm being told people are being chased with evidence to prove. Hopefully we can find a few great clubs that are not too far from Edinburgh. Fingers crossed and sorry for my rant but if nothing is said then nobody will know otherwise Scott
  16. You're not alone. I seen a zinger propeller I want for ?27.99 online but on back order! Went into my local shop and they really weren't interested. Though if I paid ?52 he could get me one. Seems that the lms in Scotland are all turning to quads and fpv ect now it's easy money and big money for cheap plastic (phantom) toys rather than looking after there long serving customers needs. Lancaster model shop though a 3 hour drive away where most helpful in sourcing items I needed at the best price recently.. Yeap sadly once the "I want a drone" days have past they will crumble!Edited By scott finnie on 29/01/2015 19:36:31 Edited By scott finnie on 29/01/2015 19:37:01
  17. Hello David and welcome to the forum! I've never actually heard of that brand, it doesn't mean don't touch it but there are many proven transmitter and receiver combos out there. Have a look at Orange, Flysky . They are proven and come along very cheap. A second hand Spektrum DX5 can be found for £30. From what you're saying you're flying parkflyers so a simple reliable 4 channel is all you'll need. I really have never heard of that brand and cant find much info on it. You'll get a lot of help on here, good luck Scott
  18. Hi Keith I've a lot of rcme pre 2007 to 1987 if there's any in particular let me know and I'll see if I've got it. Free of charge too Scott
  19. I have a question on these dlg gliders. I've noticed the tail hangs low! Does it not get damaged on landing? That rarebare has a nice colour scheme too Scott
  20. Yes Avtur I agree. I'm looking at a suitable carbon prop now. Just glad it happened at height. I'd also add that I should have checked the propeller properly though as it was attached I believed that the hidden part under the hub would have been in the same perfect condition as the res . Lesson learned , I'm hoping a 24x12 will be ok Thanks
  21. Looks like previous owner had tried to make hub security screws elsewhere too. Could this have resulted in a weaker prop? Oh. I've the prop off now thankfully. A little hammer drill and heat thanks for all the advice
