  1. When i had my trainer we used to fly off pretty rough ground and the front nose wheel had a mind of its own because of the weak control linkage. I took the steering arm off, bent the top of the leg at 90 degrees and secured it with saddle clamps.....great improvement. Johnny
  2. Well rumour has it summer is on a saturday this year so we will be ok lads lol Johnny

  5. Hi Guys I just wanted to tell you all about the service I received from Horizon Hobby. I sent away my DX7 transmitter and AR7000 receiver on Thursday afternoon recorded delivery to be tested and received it back first thing Monday morning!! As it happens they found no problems with either the transmitter or receiver but they did re-program the RF board and main board on the transmitter for good measure.......all free of charge!!! Thanks very much Horizon Ps. I have no relation to this company except for being a very happy customer Johnny
  6. Thanks David that stuff looks just the ticket Johnny
  7. Hi guys, in a nutshell i went to the shed to get my foamie wot4 this weekend only to find a mouse has made a meal of it!! Quite a bit of damage to the wings and a few good chunks missing out of the corners of the fuz......all repairable if you know how. My question is do you know of a foam safe filler that can be sanded to shape?? As for the chewed wings i was thinking of cutting out the damaged area square and letting a polystyrene instert in and sanding to shape....unless you can suggest an other ideas..... Johnny
  8. Just reverse the throw on the trannie as you would with a model.......save a model memory just for your sim then you can test your settings and changes etc before trying it for real at the field Johnny
  9. Well I was up my local field today in the Midlands and here are my boots to prove it Johnny
  10. Justin ive flown a friends with a OS91fs up front and its just nice.......so much so I want one!! Johnny
  11. Hi Martin thanks for your post. I flew all my batteries today old and new, it was about 5c and quiet mild conditions. The old batteries performed as normal giving approx 7 min flights leaving about 35% in them but the new Dynamics were flagging at 5 mins to the point that one caught me out completely and i lost engine power totally. As you said im going to suck it and see and give them a few goes and see what happens. Cheers Johnny
  12. Ok guys many thanks for your advice. When i received the batteries i put them on charge (balanced) and they charged up ok cutting off at 4.2 volts per cell as normal. This is why i was suprised when the motor cut out at about 5 mins of flying.....with my old batteries i get 7 mins of mixed flying leaving 35% in the battery. Johnny
  13. Hmmm these pesky trees are like balsa magnets......glad you got the model back tho Johnny
  14. Hi guys, to put you in the picture I was bought a couple of cheap "Dynamic" 3s 2200mh 30c batteries to replace some that were getting tired. I tired them out today (in a foamie Wot4) and the performance and flight time was lacking to say the least. Do you think Cycling them a few times would help?? As I have never cycled a lipo before can you suggest what the best discharge amperage would be and also how many times you would cycle them?? Many thanks Johnny
  15. A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all from here in the Midlands hope you all have a good un Johnny
  16. Simon ive been looking at a few of these keyfob cameras on ebay which would you recommend?? Cheers Johnny
  17. Well Masher you wont go far wrong with an IC Wot4 any time of year never mind as a winter hack. The foamie version is also pretty good as we all know.....and obviously nice and light to carry Johnny

  20. I just wanted to share with you all the fantastic after sales service I received this week by Horizon Hobby Uk. Brief history........I bought a AR7000 receiver 2 years ago from Weston Park model show and put it into a model which i never flew. Last weekend i had a change of plan and decided to put the receiver into another model but found for some reason the receiver was faulty and wouldn't go into bind mode. I sent the reciever back to Horizon Hobby on Wednesday afternoon for them to check out and today (friday at 1pm) received a parcel back with a AR7010 in replacement of my old reciever......all FREE OF CHARGE!!!.....Now hows that for service!! Many thanks Horizon Hobby From one VERY happy flyer....... Johnny Kirkham
  21. I had a close one myself when i first bought my foamie wot 4 (my first electric model) by knocking the throttle stick whilst carrying it out to the flight line this prompted me to do a throttle to throttle mix assigned to one for my switches to kill the throttle stick. So far its worked ok for me.....and its easy to do too Johnny
  22. Taking shape now Dylan....ill be watching with interest because i fancy a go myself Johnny
