  1. I hesitate to show off my attempts at scale like features in such company but I have been giving it a go. I now have wing tip lights. They are based on 8mm LED’s as I intend them to work and 8mm is about the right size. The green one is a water clear type with a clear blue lacquer applied but lights up green when powered. TBH this is about as far as my dexterity and eyesight will go but I will be happy if I can get a few more touches done like this Nev.

The only one I have used is Vortex Vacforms. Web site is a bit rubbish but always helpfull via e-mail. Nev.
  6. There are a lot of finishing off jobs on this one, I've been doing a few as I go, it slows you down but you get there. At the moment I'm having a bit of a break from building and have been trying to fashion some wing tip lights. Wait till you start doing that stuff, then you'll wonder where the time goes. Fun though but I'm not at Martyn's level. Keep the mojo flowing. Nev.
  7. Nice job on the tail wheel Martyn. Can't fault the workmanship. Do you think there is enough meat left on the fork, wouldn't like to think the axel was going to snap out. Looks really good though. Nev.
  8. Kind of you to say so John. Truth is I took a couple of dozen photos and picked the best. Dont we all . Nev.
  9. That’s a useful idea. Never realised you could get that stuff, it never crossed my mind to look.
  10. Just a little update, not much done really but the fairing is done, at least the rear part. It’s not perfect but unlike John’s it’s not coming off again and it will be better with a bit of smoothing in. Not much else done though, been staling a bit deciding what to do next. Fit the tail feathers I suppose. Nev.

  13. It looks very good but far too neat for a real one. Like you say it needs some lumps and bumps. Nev.
  14. Good progress Colin, it's starting to look like a Chipmonk. You will be able to crack on now you have the internal stuff done. Nev.

I like it, especially the biplane one. Would like to see it fly if you get chance to do a vid. Nice one. Nev.
  16. And there was me thinking I had a bit of a gap to fill and your cutting yours off.
  17. Thanks. I meant the model but actually the real one helps. I was trying to gauge how far up / down the fuselage it needed to go. I tried marking bits off the plan and 3 view but wasn’t quite prepared for how big it needed to be so didn’t really trust what I was doing. I had looked at all the photos people have added and thought I know exactly what shape it needed to be but had trouble visualising where the bit of wood went. I think I will be ok when I have another go. Nev.
  18. Such a big gap and so few bits of wood !! All I’ve managed to do so far is fit G2 and then juggle the little bits trying to work out what it is supposed to look like. Has anybody got a good shot from the back, like this but with the fairing in place. I’ll have another go tonight and hopefully figure it out.

  21. That's a shame John, you had made a good job of them. This is my next job, when I've worked out how there on earth there sop used to go ! Nev.
  22. Looking great Barry, nice scheme too. Nev.
  23. Hi. Flaps were correct width but a fraction too long span wise. Easiest thing was to extend the wing by 1/6th to get the hinge spacing correct. Nev.
  24. Well... I like to think I can do it and I do enjoy it but I wouldn't have the patience or the dexterity to go to the same lengths that Danny does and I have never tried anything on this scale before. But having got this far I think we're both going to have to give it a go. It can't be that hard surely
  25. It's going to look the part John. I'm not sure all my ribs line up that well. If you're going to this much trouble now I'm looking forward to seeing the details going on. Nev.
