  1. Hi Simon, Your 'Ghost" look's screaming hot, and the 'shorties' are the icing on the cake! Good reason for you to look quite happy and proud of your 'scoopless monster'. Now that she's finished, I'll be going through withdrawl's. Stay in touch Simon Cheers, Phil
  2. Thank's to you mod's as they are all back....lovely! Cheers, Phil
  3. Their's at least two of us that can't find any of Simon's posting's. Cheers, Phil
  4. Thank you CS Cheers Phil Edited By Phillip Long on 24/04/2014 22:36:20
  5. Well Jack, it does appear that all of Simon's posting's have been removed. Not good as I wanted to keep the pic's of 'The Ghost' he posted. Hopefully he'll see some of us are trying to contact him. Cheers, Phil
  6. Hello you lot, Nice to see this topic here. Mercedes-Benz have been preparing for this new Formula for the last two-odd year's. As for most of the other team's, Red Bull especially, have not taken to preparing to the new reg"s seriously enough to get on top of it....Newey will make it right and Renault"s a sure thing mind-set. 7. Well Simon, It sound's as though you made the right call in bringing her in when you did. Strange you had not one, but two unit's go south on you, but, at least 'G.G.' is safe and sound. Was a little concerned when you hadn't posted anything yesterday. Hope you can get it sorted without too much headache and expense. Will be waiting for update's. Cheers, Phil
  8. Hi Simon, Was hoping to find an up-date regarding yesterday's 'shorty' flight. Hope all went well if you were in fact able to fly the 'Ghost' yesterday. Waiting to hear. Cheers, Phil
  9. Well Simon, the 'Ghost' came out lovely. Seeing her in the air she look's as though she'd been flying forever. Some angle's of her bring back memories of the various photo's appearing of the racer that last weekend in Reno. Any idea when you'll be taking her out with her 'shorty' wing's? When are they planning to mow the grass I guess would be a better question. Cheers, Phil
  10. Good luck and God Bless Simon! [we'll be waiting for pic's and a report mate]. Cheers, Phil
  11. Wow Simon....She's a looker for sure! That's not a model aeroplane but more like 'flying art'....she's lovely mate. Keep us posted and thank's for the pic's. Cheers, Phil
  12. Hi Simon, Waiting for picture's of 'The Ghost" completed [getting exited now]. Cheers, Phil
  13. Hi Simon, How is 'The Galloping Ghost's' canopy coming together and, how far out are we from the maiden flight mate? [chomping at the bit here]. Cheers, Phil
  14. Hi Simon, If time allow's, have a look at photo's of the real 'Voodoo' and you'll see your talent is needed to correct that 'store-bought' kit. Not being funny, but about the only thing that manufacturer got correct is the paint-scheme. Both Voodoo and Strega have highly modified 'belly scoop's'. Voodoo's is actually lower-profile and, elongated [the tail-wheel is actually contained where the rear of the scoop meet's the fuse], something the 'kit' plane missed all together as well as the no-nonsense 'turtle-deck' canopy assembly. Strega has won Reno four year's on the trot. The guy that accomplished those four Reno victories in Strega switched to pilot Voodoo last year and won that championship as well [I think we're looking at a little Senna and Schumacher here]. The interesting bit is this was accomplished by a guy that was aged 25 year's! Cheers, Phil
  15. Hi Simon, Not meant to bore, let alone insult your knowledge of your newly gained 'winged' daughter. In 1946, the U.S. Army was selling off their surplus equipment including aircraft. Your little girl [NX79111] was sold to the general public for roughly $2000.00 U.S. Dollars. That allowed a group of people to take these hi-performance aeroplane's and start a racing format based on racing a 'pylon' type circuit. Originally named 'The Galloping Ghost' [the nick-name of an American footballer Red Grange....Chicago Bear's]. The 'Ghost' had changed name's and owner's a few different time's over quite a few decade's. Back in the `70's, I was leaning against a Mustang named 'Miss Candace at Reno. A year or so later, she crashed and lost her belly-scoop and was put in to storage. Her serial no. was NX79111. Eventually Jimmy Leeward brought the 'remain's' and turned her into the little 'Silver Monster'' race no. 177 that we only got to know again for a very short time.   I know your'e not a big fan of 'scooped' mustang's but perhaps Ton wouldn't object to you using his plan's one more time and build your little girl a 'sister'....'Voodoo'. What you did with your 'Ghost' build, it would be lovely to see what you could do with the 'Little Purple Monster' [2013 Reno Champion]. Hope I didn't overstep my ground's Simon [I'm now speaking to you from under my desk]. Cheers, Phil Edited By Phillip Long on 25/03/2014 01:25:14
