  1. Poor old Tom didn't get much sympathy for us pensioner folks did he Bob? The Wright Stuff however seems to sum it up quite nicely though! BTW, I do hope you are not promoting £240 F1 tickets as good value, Bob. Yes, I know, plenty do, or at least chose to pay that!! Theres nawt so queer as folk! Personally I stopped going many moons ago due to constantly increasing ticket prices coupled with some rather heroic pricing perpetrated by the catereres. The Wright Stuff sums it all up very nicely, methinks!!
  2. Seen a few things connected with the QE2 celebrations this week including a very Viscount sounding Atlas. The heli's have also been practising hard. A couple of intriguing 4 engined a/c (C141?) lazily flying, in quite tight formation, toward the East (Mildenhall?) this afternoon and returning 2/3 hours later heading West.. Could be the RAF on thier regular circuit from Brize out into East Anglia I suppose.
  3. Couldn't have said it better Alan. Great result.
  4. Lovely to see this in the air - where it belongs. Well done guys.
  5. A mustang over Henlow. sounded very nice - thank you very much.
  6. I have said before that as long as the mags both here and abroad keep accepting substandard design, parts, shuddy construction, and go on give excellent ratings, this sort of failure will just go on and on. The thing that the mags have that Phil and the others who have shelled out large amounts of hard earned cash haven't, is a loud voice. The makers can hear the mags, and they will change thier ways if they consistantly hear that thier products are not be considered value for money.
  7. Thanks John. Just did that and, guess what? It now tells me that the new address is already in use by someone else!! I ask myself. Am I losing the will to live? Dare not reply just yet.
  8. Sorry. I know this is not the correct place to post this but no idea where the correct place may be. I need to change the email address that I recistered here with but cannot fathom out how. Does any passing formite, or mod, know how to do this, please?
  9. Ok. Call me a foggie and technophobe if you like. I'm too old to care!! My problem is twofold. Firstly. I don't know where to post this so have chosen a well troden path. Second. I need to change my mail address and can not fathom out how!! Can a passing comp nerd, or perhaps a mod, prey tell, please? Thank you!! Andy. Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 11/04/2016 10:18:19
  10. You would think so, Graeme.
  11. Thanks for that Frank. Either they misdeclare import and the consignment is not inspected ( they cant do them all), or HMRC are so thick they are not realising the true value of the items being imported! I suppose you can also imagine a situation where a payment from the buyer for the full price via PayPal could go straight out to the sellers country so they would trouser the entire VAT on the purchase price. The question then is. How do they explain to HMRC why VAT payments during import do not have corresponding VAT activity at the point of sale! No wait!! The import price has been depressed so much using your scheme that they can sell several items "off books" and still show a reasonable margin on thier books for the one or two that they do actually show on the books.
  12. It's those slow moving truck drivers, enjoying the views over the hedges, that cause the problems Percy!!
  13. I was going to buy a DSLR camera online until I realised that the seller was claiming uk stock but on checking his listed address was in Hong Kong. I bought my camera elsewhere because I could foresee mega problems getting after sales support. At the time I wondered if some sort of tax scam, perhaps similar to the old purchase tax export/reimport scam, but could not work out how the stuff could be imported, without paying at point of import, or when withdrawn frpm bond. This thread is going to be an eyeopener. I wonder who else is thinking of an extremely well know personality who got caught perpetraiting multiple purchase tax frauds and basically got away with it!! Nothing to do with his father who, by sheer coincidence was a senior high court judge!!
  14. Oh Daz. What hard luck. Lets hope that nasty illness at least eases, and quickly. All the cery best. Andy
