  1. Posted by JulianJ on 02/05/2019 09:10:36: Has anyone tried 'rust-oleum metallic from B&Q? Julian I've used those fluorescent green and yellow. Three thin scrubbed on coats with a brush could have got away with two coats, brush cleaned off with water. Dries very quick but spreads on nice so no brush marks, not sure about the metallic though. 3. I bet the site crashes with all the eager beavers trying to get on and answer all the questions
  4. Good point Doug, just had a thought what would happen if you paid the registration fee then failed the on line question for the flying number. Would they give you a refund ? Do you get another go ? Would you have to pay again for another attempt ? probably have to pay again knowing this lot of money grabbers.
  5. Posted by john stones 1 on 29/04/2019 15:12:02: I wouldn't go fishing without a license, where's the fun looking over your shoulder dreading a bailiff appearing, same with flying. Clubs checking Percy, would that involve us little hitlers aka committee men aka anti fun police ? will there be workshops run for it, You're just trying to cheer me up aren't you. Edited By john stones 1 on 29/04/2019 15:12:57 Oh my goodness, I'd forgot about the little hitlers we have enough down here as it is. They all go shopping at Asda with the Waitrose shopping bags down south. Dam and blast what fun times to look forward to
  6. It's not going to shut up the " Drone panic dept " for long because it's not going to work.
  7. I knew I should have emigrated when they dumped a pile of bricks in the Tate and then banned playing conkers from school playgrounds.
  8. They will make a small charge to cover the cost of the sticker and admin fees. There goes another £10
  9. Please don’t give the idiots over here any more ways to take money out of our pockets, they will start charging for each individual plane next. We might even have to buy the stick on numbers from them
  10. Posted by GONZO on 27/04/2019 23:17:09: If you don't fly over the winter why register on 1/11/2019???? Good one Gonzo, Why do we have to pay for 12 months everything else nowadays is pay as you go. What about pensioners rates ? We should get a reduction surely !!
  11. I could understand this if were pointed at people piloting aircraft through a laptop via gps but for line of sight flying there just out to screw us over. I,m with Martin I just happen to have a new tube of foam safe super glue to hand.
  12. Looking at that test list I am bored to tears already. Where is the slit my wrist smily when you need one ?
  13. They have already started to get round the problem with sub 250 gram quads fitted with hd cameras. Some have gps even.
  14. One or two old boys at my club have gone over to boats when the hand eye coordination starts to go.
  15. I've only been flying for about 3 years and now having a re think. I needed something to keep my brain occupied when I had to stop working, maybe I should have got into boats I already got the fishing rods and I used to get fed up with the foreigners taking all the carp out of the lakes for the table due to lack of bailiffs and now my flying hobby is going down the same route.
  16. I take it you wouldn't have to bother with this if you only flew indoor models and under 250g outside ?
  17. All I can say is Laser engines are nicer to work on for setting valve clearances and rebuilding.
  18. I gave up using locktite as even the kindest stuff used to strip fine Chinese threads made of China's best metal, instead I use Uho por which is very sticky and shake ressistant. Even the other half's old nail varnish comes in handy and it looks good too
  19. Posted by RC Plane Flyer on 13/04/2019 13:49:11: They look good but I see they are only rated at 30c will this be enough power for your needs ? Not sure about that, I was thinking using tham on a Max Thrust Riot
  20. As title, are these any good ? **LINK** They seem to be all over ebay and being a skinflint I might be tempted.
  21. Thanks for the advise, I went with Ever Build One Strike Toolstation at £5.40 a ltr. First time using and I think it beats Deluxe. Cheaper and more in the tub. Sticks like glue and no cracking, so far so good
  22. Its past the boiling water tecnique The tree branches ripped chunks out so there is nothing to expand back. I have glued it and sanded back and it could do with going in the bin but I will turn it into a reserch and development plane general dogs body type of thing.
