  1. I currently have 14 flyable - all electric or gliders - with another twin engined biplane @ 90% complete! SHMBO says why don’t I fly more and stop building!
  2. I must have recently had the best deal going when I bought some bits from Bangood! An EDF unit with ESC and a set of servos were dispatched pence for insurance but P&P and delivery were FREE! Royal Mail want about £3-50 to move a parcel that size from the next county
  3. Cosford has been on my wish list for some years so will definitely make it on the 28th - look forward to seeing you there!
  4. Many thanks Alan - have ordered, job done.!
  5. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of the plans for the canard CAN-DOO which appeared in the December 2013 issue of RCM&E?
  6. Hi Bob - confirming I will be there and will be happy with the chicken burger ! Thanks to you and Phil for the organisation - am looking forward to it.
  7. On the subject of missing parts we are also short of two wing ribs. The plan calls for two R4 in each wing but only two are included in the kit - again extras are easy to cut if you do it before glueing the originals!!!!
  8. Have ordered my kit today and look forward to the build! Unfortunately I missed the Skyhawk September fly in as I was on holiday and SWMBO has done it again for this year! Can someone please tell her to get my priorities right (there’s a pint in it when I get out of hospital !! ) Hopefully I will see you on the Orme prior to September. Am currently about halfway thru Andy’s Canberra so may have both to maiden at the same time. Have definitely been impressed with the quality and precision cutting of the Canberra kit - much better than I experienced with Traplet.
  9. Have belatedly found the posts - I will be there!
  10. Thanks for the suggestion Ray. I have fitted a steerable tail wheel so should be OK.
  11. Hi Rob, Not flown yet! Although build is complete I still have to finish the painting, detailing, and balancing etc. Not much time at moment with Xmas in the way! Will keep you posted in due course.
  12. YIPEEE!!! Hi all. - it now all works ! Problem was with the Rx/ Y lead combo. Having ditched one Y and connected each wing into its own "throttle" channel all motors now work. I would never have thought of this solution myself so live and learn as they say. Thank you all for your help.
  13. Hi Robert, Thanks for info - yes it's a 4 max setup and from comments so far it is looking more and more likely to be a problem with multiple Y leads in some form. I will go with the 40mm travel or as near as I can get. As built the plan only allows 30mm so in addition to longer servo arms I also need to trim off the elevators. As you say 'experience counts' - this is my first multi and if I build another it will certainly have more access! Hope my Lanc looks as good on its maiden,
  14. Many thanks for the advice guy's. Radio gear is Spektrum via a DX9. I need to do some shopping for bits before I can continue!
  15. Thank you both for advice - unfortunately there is no change! The wings were built first and one at a time with each pair of motors being checked together along with the other controls before the wing was sheeted At this stage the Rx and fuselage gear was a loose temporary mockup for the test. BEC's in the ESC's were disabled with a separate "fuselage" BEC supplying the Rx. Direct battery power is definitely onto each wing and I have no reason to think it is not reaching the ESC's although I do not have access to check at present without some surgery - this may be the only option if all else fails.
