I put a Hobby King Lipo battery pack in my DX6 and had 7.8v. The plane flew a bit erratic but got it back and put the original batteries back in and everything is fine. I will put a diode in line with the battery and try again.

Frustration to falling over laughing and all of the above. Lighter fuel and matches sometimes works for me. One of my planes was called "More Glue Than Plane". Bring on the summer and hot glue gun.

When I have spent hours building, painting, prepping and then take it for it's maiden this is not what one needs.

I had been given a balsa Tiger Moth. I converted it to 2.4GHz and checked the operation of all the control surfaces rigorously. Then I set the throttle linkage to the 4 stroke engine. I took the plane into the garage and started the engine, tick over a bit fast but the throttle cut working fine. Now time for the full beans and set the mixture; the whole engine mount/bulkhead and tank mount came out and fortunately the engine cut when the servo link snapped. My Corsair was infront of it, a near miss.

I have now found out that the ESC is a rebadged Etronix and these have a programming card thing, so progress is in sight.
