  1. Although this is an old thread, I thought I would relight the love for the Acro Wot. I've just bought my second ARFT Acro wot. My 1st model served me well for several years untill gravity won the battle. I see there are lots of questions about engine choice, mine started life with a sc 52 2 stroke fitted, but finally met her maker fitted with a OS 65ax. I my opinion there is no need for anything bigger that a 55 2 stroke, plenty of vertical performance, but the 65 just added another level, although not really needed. After several minor repairs, it has finally ended in the bin after a high speed nose dive, the servo arm on the elevator stripped its threads casing it ti pow into the ground full speed. I've attached some pics of the mayhem. I'm planning on refitting the os65 once I've repaired the exhaust mount. But shall be using alloy arms in future
  2. There are no sound restraints at the flying club I fly at, so pressure from fellow modellers will not be an issue.
  3. Saitos are great in the ballerina. I have fitted a Saito 56 in mine. More than enough power, she will go vertical quite easily if required. Sounds great too.
  4. Hi Chris. I've just had a catch up on your build. It's coming along great guns. 😀 I've not been online for the past month or so as after having our son born 6 weeks ago free time is something of a distant memory. I love the cowl, it looks great. I see gaston has been giving you a helping hand also. I've managed many successful flights with my ballerina now, I must say its a very forgiving model, I've build mine quite heady I think, it feels quite heady in the hand, but it truly is a great model to fly. Your hard work and effort will be well worth it in the end. 👍 Keep up the good work, I'll try and pop in from time to time when Grayson (our son) allows it. That's if I haven't took the spare 5 mins to sleep. That's a novelty at the moment. 😂😂
  5. All. I have anot os 65 and am not too happy with the sound of it. It's very quiet. I know that for most people that's a good thing, but I like my nitro engines to have a nice load sound. Can anyone please tell me that if I take the cone shaped baffle out of the exhaust, will I get any performance issues or pressure issues?
  6. Hi Richards. I've built a Ballerina this year. What a great little plane. 👍 I've fitted a Saito 56 in mine. The main reason I went for the .56 instead of a smaller one is mainly due to price, the bigger one was cheaper Mine is also inverted and have experienced no issues what so ever first Saito I've had and am very impressed
  7. Hi all. Can anyone help. I have a dx 9 with a ailaron trim tab that is broke. The button actually works but it feels like the spring has came off as it's just loose. Is it an easy home repair as if it's complicated I would rather send it off to horizon. It's out of warranty so would have to pay for it. Any ideas on Horizon changes? 8. I see Gaston is doing a a grand job with the screen. For my screen I just used some packaging t hat a baby's toy came in. It seems to have done the job. If I had been bothered I could have got a better screen shape. Something similar to yours would have been nice.
  9. Very nice Chris. Neat and tidy as always. 👍 I am thinking about having a go at making an under carriage for my Edge. They are fairly simple shapes. I would need to invest in some proper resin though as the stuff I used was quite brittle.
  10. Even the proper carbon fiber head rest looked good in the sun. 💪
  11. I'm pleased to say my ballerina is finished. Finally. It's been a bit of a slog, but got there in the end. 😬😬😬
  12. Thanks guys. I can't waint to start another plan build. Not sure when that will be though. I've got a little one on the way in 6 weeks. 😬 I'm very tempted to have a bash at peters grumpy tiger cub next. Are they fairly straight forward Peter?
