  1. Hi, Thanks for the information. I found the websites interesting and I will continue to explore. David: The decals in the kit seems to be exactly as seen in the picture without the red/white/blue on the fin and no yellow outer roundel. Pity about the fate for mr Ferriss and the airplane, but things were obviously extreme chaotic then.
  2. First of all, my condolenses for the loss of Queen Elizabeth. So, I got my hands of a Balsacraft Hawker Hurricane kit, and the maiden flight is coming. i know that the Mk1 JU-B was one of the Hurricanes of 111th Squadron. I'm interested to find out more about for example who was the pilot and what happened to the plane. I have found only one image of JU-B in a refuelling situation. So does anyone know where to find mor of the history of the plane, of sourse I've found much just by using Google, but I would kike to read more and perhaps find som more pictures.   3. I'm really pleased too see Hurricane as winner. Yes, it's another warbird. But it's a rare one. Many of You claim that there are lots of Hurricane kits on the market. I got the April issue of RCM&E today and a quick check gave result: None. Not at Steve Webb, not at Sussex Model Centre, not at Al's Hobbies. In fact no Hurricane at all. I might have missed somewhere, but I couldn't see anyone in the ad's.  I'm looking forward to  build this one. I'm shure it'll fly as well as the Mosquito does. 
  4. I keep on wanting a Hurricane.... My votes: 1. Hawker Hurricane 2. Consolidated Catalina 3. Ju87 Stuka(in spite of being an ugly airplane)  With all respect, I don't understand why some of You vote for D.H. Mosquito since Mr Nijhuis has designed two in different sizes in 2004? See June/ July 2004 and June 2005. By the way: My D.H. Mosquito had it's maiden flight last friday. Built from the excellent Nijhuis-plan in RCM&E June/July 2004. Great flyer, absolutely no problems at all. It's powered by 2 Apache 20-34T brushless motors drawing 8 AMps each out of a 3s1p PQ2500Xp Lipo-pack. Overall weight i 793 grams (about 28 oz)
  5. Hello! No #1 on my list is still Hawker Hurricane.. Here are my preferences: #1 Hawker Hurricane - .40 size 2-stroke or equivalent electric #2 Auster J-1 Autocrat 40 size 2-stroke /outrunner #3 Hawker Hunter, why not another jet model? By the way, i'm just finishing a Mosquito from an RCM&E-plan (the smaller one), a very nice model indeed. Just covering with Solite was a true challenge. Must You English always create so beautiful airplanes?
  6. My Club field is 5 mins away by car, and I get there in 10-15 mins with my bicycle. Should I prefer a walk it'll take me some 40 minutes through the town. We're neighbours to the Local aeroclub, which means that we have acces to big lawn mower, tractor, etc and we share a snow thrower too. We are lucky indeed, since we rent the area from the town administration of Köping (Sweden) Our cost is below £100 per year. 230 Volts provided by the Aero Club to a cost of approx. £300 per year.

  10. Hello! Just a comment to Flanker; If You want something that's not seen too often at the airfields, then Hawker Hurricane shurely would qualify! So many Spitfire ARF:s, plans kits etc are available (clearly being one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built), and almost no Hurries? That said, my choice of course is: 1) Hawker Hurricane (.40 2-stroke size) 2) Miles Magister 3) B25 ...and in a Future - why not a Hawker Hunter ducted fan model?   11. Hello! Agree totally with Dead-stick and Mike Rolls. I broke the wing of my best electric glider in a spiral dive i April last year. Wasn't in cloud but the thermal was heavy, and a strong wind took the plane far away so I decided to get out of it, made a large left hand diving turn to get back to the landing spot. I was a bit surprised as I had flewn the model in stronger winds before this happened. If things are going out of your control, try to spin the plane.
