  1. Black print on a coloured background is used to help people with dyslexia . ( why have a word so hard to spell for people who can't?) They now do it for referance manuals in the forces (black on pale green) and the police have started using it to. And the big uni's have started to.
  2. One other thing while we are on the topic of food. What would be your last meal?
  3. IGUANA is the worst thing ever!!!!! Every thing you will eat for the next 2 weeks will taste of Iguana. you cornflakes, cups of tea, rost dinner, snadwich, beer, BEER. Tried it while in the forces, on exercise in Belize. I ruins BEER why was this thing ever feed to us. the humanity!!!!!
  4. I second that, well said Ultymate.      At the end of the day whether speky or fuby you can swap Rx over if you want. Thats not in question. The only piont i will make is the the "model match" feature on Specktrum is an exrta saftey feture and this at the end of the day can Not be a bad thing! Saftey should be paramount to every one. I have used Futaba for the last 10 years and have only just changed over to 2.4 and i went with Specktrum, two reasons cheaper Rx's and the model match, I just liked the extra saftey feature.
  5.      Did no one else realise the date as the 1st of April or is that just me?    If I'm wrong..... (and I often am!!!)....  then I'll be getting an iPhone then.
  6.     I Know What you are saying Ultymate about the fact that pritty quick, if you do get into the hobby you will need a better Tx, but for £40 for your first Tx and Rx on 2.4 it aint as if you are forking out too much. The only issue i can see is as a first Tx, while you are learning, is the need or facilaty for a buddy lead and is it compatable with any of the other sets ie buddy lead to fuby or speky? Only time will tell if its 1. any good                                        2. will stand the test of time   You never know they my have a 9Ch set out in june for .........£60..................................... would be nice but I doubt it.
  7.    I don't go online for a few hours and look whats happened!      2.4 on fuby can NOT be shot down by some one else as the tx and rx are bound to each other by codeing and its the same codeing for each rx wether 1 or 25 from the same Tx. so me turning on will not interfere with bob's 2.4 fuby or specky next door.   Back to the topic in hand      Spoke to Gary at Galaxy in ipswich today (great shop. go if you can) and asked him about this new planet range of 2.4. he has tested the set in a elec gliuder till a spec in the sky, and in a ic fun fly type and both flew to well beyoned what he called "normal flying range" and the manufacturars are stateing that it IS full range. even got to hold the one in the shop and it feels well............ like any normal TX. so for £40 all in for shockies and the like, hell even a decent sunday hack what more could you ask for?
  8. Apparently not, a fellow club member flew the wrong model last weekend using fuby's new FC 10.       The model was not responding well so he landed to see what was wrong, luckuly throws went the right way ,he then noticed the the name on the screen was diferent. Switch memorys over to something else and servos responded then switched to several diferent ones and they ALL responded.      To say he was anoyed is under statement he was led to bebleleive that this could not happen on 2.4 but "model match " is a copyrited speky facilaty.     This is one of the reason I bought a speky DS7 two days ago!      Must ask though, why oh why does the weather always suck just after you buy something new and want to try it out!!! or is this just me?
  9.  Thinks its the new set called PLANET and at £40 all in not to much of an outlay. Just to clarify a piont its  ONLY  speky sets that have model match. that what sung it for me crashed one to many (one) when on the wrong memory. Am of the galaxy tomorrow and will ask them as I know they are stocking it.
  10. Back in may 2000 ( I think) there was a plan for a .25 ic low wing plane made from cardboard and I'm sure it was called the cardshark. I think is was desigened by Mr Ashby Senior ( Maurice I'm sure its spelt wrong sorry)   Did anyone build one, and did it fly well?  was one on my to do list. But as i was learning at the time and with work and family time just sliped by and other ideas came to the for and took over. love the idea of cheap building materials especialy in this "credit crunch" time. 11. Went and watched them in London last year, and the practice day was the better day to watch as they all had a couple of goes each very inpresive. If anyone ever gets the chance to watch it then go its well worth it. Edited By Dave Towell on 24/03/2009 18:09:11
  12. I know a few guys with Iphone and will ask them. I know one on of the uses the level on his iphone as his wing incadence meter and says its is more acurate then the older ones with the leveling bubble. Edited By Dave Towell on 24/03/2009 18:02:25
  13. Let us all know how you get on am planing to build one in the not to distant future (might have to get a back issue as well) And would be interested to see how you get on.   Good luck   Ther is also the plans special (David you missed that one!)
  14. I can't remember the last time I saw an artical that was MF (subscriber only). haven't found one since the change over in jan to the new site layout.
  15. Never noticed hot glue going soft in the summer. will have to keep a eye on that in the summer. Mind you when was the last time we had a summer?????????
  16. What about adding a section on the web site that gives you the links that are in the magazine?   For example:-  Alex W's indoor artical (in the new March issue) mentions a site to get a free plan for an indoor plane (a epp sumo). Why not have a section that lists all of these and all the other links, the manufacturers that make the kits that are reviewed and so on, you get the idea.   Now I may be asking/suggesting for something that already exists but if it does I cann't find/see it any were on the site. So if it does can someone tell me were it is, and if not what do you think Mr Ashby and Co?????????
  17. Found a cheap heat gun at one of our local diy store, reduced due to no carry case but worked fine and cost less than a tenner!,  and it works just just don't start to close and as they say " test on a scrap bit first" !!!!!  I've never had any probs.
  18. 1. Seafury   2.  Edgley Optica   3. P-38 lightning
  19. Hot glue is all I use on depron it works realy well dosn't add to much wieght as long as its not over used. I put servos in with the stuff, just tape round them first so you can remove it later. just becareful not to use to much near any joint you want to sand as it do not sand very well.
  20.  Just use some of there glues. they had 2 difrent types so got a small bottel of each just to try them out after hearing so much about them thought I'd give it a go. so decided test them on test pices of scrap balsa, depron,  plastic and metal (dural scraps).   OH MY GOD!!!!!! SETS LIKE ITS BEEN TIG WELDED    Ones a clear liquid looks a bit like super glue the other one is a brown gloopy thing and looks a bit like a strange contact adhisive. Technical  descriptions aren't they! They set so solid  its amazing. Some seped out onto my NEW work bench and could hardly get the thing off. there is no way that the glue joint will fail, the wood will fail first.      will use them again excellent stuff just wish the curing times a bit quicker.
  21. Thought of another one   Green Air Designs, can not find details they are not web site but its somewhere near norwich.
  22. Dont think focus going bust, but if it is, best I buy a decent stock pile of the stuff then!!!!!!!
  23. Don't know of this is in the right thread but.   Gorilla Glue is now avalibe at FOCUS diy stores. Just came in yesterday to my local store and apparently is a new line they are all going to stock it.  Just thought I'd let people know.
