We are planning a full flying program for both days 10am - 4pm. The organisers are inviting display pilots, traders and public to this first ever event at Popham in Hampshire easily accessible, just off the M3 and A303 at Micheldever. This is the first time Popham has closed its main runways to accommodate some much needed post pandemic model flying. In order to meet expected Government guidelines in August, this will be an all-ticket event for track and trace and also with a strict limited on the number of persons on site over the weekend. There will be limited camping for public and pilots which must also be pre-booked follow the links on the Popham website www.popham-airfield.co.uk‘events’ which will take you to our Eventbrite ticket provider. There will be toilets on site but no shower facilities, catering concessions will be open throughout the weekend for what is planned to be a socially distanced event. If you are interested in flying, trading or participating in the swap event, you must first obtain a ticket reservation, for more information contact us in the first instance by email at Popham [email protected] or by telephone 01256 397733. The event is being organized with one eye on the legal obligations we have to the changing pandemic restrictions. We have high hopes of delivering an enjoyable weekend for all.
  2. Hi Model Monster, As the June issue is now out, the gift has been updated, which is why it's showing as the LiPo sacks as this is the June offer. Unfortunately, the Permagrit bundle is no longer available. Each month will be a different gift as advertised in the magazine. The URL link to subscribe is: https://rcme.secureorder.co.uk/RCME/RCME2021/ and the gift on this link will be updated at the relevant time. Hope this helps, Beth
  3. Good parking, portaloo and BMFA Northern Area are supporting our clubs event. An admission charge of £5 will be levied for BMFA Members and proof of BMFA Membership will be required. We are also looking forward to anyone who would like to attend via the BMFA trial flight ‘Flightfest’ program and get a feel for model flying. Our event director, Jon Edison and his team will be pleased to answer any enquiries. Contact with York Model Aircraft Society can be through our website contact page and arrangements can be made to take a trial model flight at our club flying site near York. We regret that we cannot carry out the trial flights on the Knavesmire, but will be pleased to give information on model aircraft flying and arrange a convenient time slot to visit our club flying site to take a trial flight there. Details are on our club website, ymas.org.uk and initial info is on our front homepage and further information can be found by following the left side menu link, EBOR fly-in. Why EBOR fly-in? Well, in Roman times York was called Eboracum and the event is being held on York Racecourse known as the Knavesmire. We have had a good number of new members and enquiries regarding joining our club and would be pleased to welcome any more new applications. Members are established at all levels and enjoy flying a wide range of models types, both Fixed Wing and Rotary. See our website for details. “It’s great to be back flying”
  4. Steven - I've been told by our distributors last week that flights between Canada and the UK were suspended in December which has been causing all manner of delays and the magazines just don't seem to be getting through because of the backlog and them being sent under standard priority mail. If you'd like to email me with your subs number or address, I can look into your account and get some replacements out to you. [email protected] Nigel - I've just replied to your email.
  5. Posted by Bob Bertram on 12/01/2021 17:18:55: I don't seem to be able to access the digital back issues although I have had the latest print one. I paid for both. Any ideas??? I've just had a quick look and seems you had a different subs number in your profile than the one on our system. I've put the new one in your profile here and access has been restored. Beth
  6. Posted by Jeff Dinius on 06/11/2020 00:47:32: I am missing more than May and June. I received July and August and nothing since. My subscription is good through July 2021. Any idea why I have not received any more issues? Thank you, Jeff Dinius Kaufman, Texas (USA) Hi Jeff, Would you mind sending me over your postal address so that I can look into it for you? [email protected] Thank you.
  7. Alfonso - the way the system works, it needs an exact match to the details the subscriptions dept holds compared with your details on here and it looks like there was a difference in your surname that was causing the problem. I've amended it so both have the same details and I've checked and the subscriber area now works for you. Manish - thank you for your patience in my reply. I'll search through my emails for yours and answer now.
  8. Posted by Minze Zwerver on 16/09/2020 08:54:51: Posted by Beth Ashby Moderator on 13/08/2020 15:40:20: Hi all, To help clear up the confusion I wanted to lay out the situation for you. For a while, our distributors weren't able to get our magazines overseas, this meant that subscribers anywhere other than the UK missed May and June. We have extended all of these subscribers current terms by 2 so that they receive everything they paid for. We also opened up the digital archives so that the May and June issues could still be read (and all other years). This is only available through this website - not pocketmags - (ensuring that you have your current subscriber number saved into your profile) click on magazines at the top of the page and then RCM&E. This has been automatically turned on for all overseas subscribers. Posting resumed with the July issue, although I am finding it's taking longer than normal to reach you and it hasn't been uncommon for it to take 3-4 weeks to reach US/Australia. MrWood - I have PMed you separately to look into your subscription. If anyone has any other queries in regard to this, please email me [email protected] and I will reply as soon as I can. Beth Edited By Beth Ashby Moderator on 13/08/2020 15:41:57 I find it highly annoying to have to find this on the forum. This should have been emailed to people outside the UK. I was waiting for the backlog of issues to arrive at my doorstep at some point. Time to start emailing again. (I've never had a response on any email send their way) Hi Minze, An email went out to you when the posting was paused to let everyone know. I'm sorry that you didn't receive it, it does occasionally go straight into junk boxes. Please email me directly, that way, you'll definitely get a reply. [email protected] Glenn, I've just seen your email - I'm on it! Beth

  10. Hi Joost, I've replied to the email that you sent to Kevin with all the details that you need. Beth Edited By Beth Ashby Moderator on 30/06/2020 13:50:22
  11. Gordon, The new uploader is in HTML5 and so when Adobe do eventually pull all support, the digital editions will still be able to be viewed. Because of this, the old editions will be affected but work is going on currently to move them all over to the new system so that they will be able to be viewed by that time. Beth
  12. Geoff, Good news re-packaging. The plastic is fully recyclable and so can be recycled with your normal council collected plastic! Beth
  13. Hi Gordon, I've taken all your questions back to the IT chap and will reply as soon as I have something solid for you. I can confirm that the difference you're seeing from the March 19 issue is due to the change in magazine viewer but need some clarity on your other questions before I can answer them. Thanks for your patience, Beth
  14. Posted by Geoff Sleath on 04/05/2019 17:36:45: My paper RCME came through the letterbox this morning wrapped in its plastic cover. It doesn't actually say but my wife ( a keen recycler/gardener etc) wondered if it was compostable or at least biodegradable or capable of recycling? There's nothing to give any indication. Just wondered as many of us are becoming more aware of unnecessary single-use plastic use. Geoff I've asked the question... will come back to you when I have an answer!
  15. Posted by Shaun Walsh on 04/05/2019 15:33:45: I have just downloaded the latest digital RCM&E and, as sometimes happens, one if the pages failed to load properly, it appears as a page of random colours with a 0 in a black box. Is there any way to get the viewer to delete the edition and re-upload it HI Shaun, Would you mind taking a look and letting me know if the issue has been resolved for you now? I've had a message from the lady who uploads to say its all showing clear her end. If not, could you let me know which page is missing. Feel free to PM if easier. Thanks Beth
  16. Hi Shaun, I’ll email the lady who uploads them and ask her to have a look. She doesn’t work weekends but will be able to pick it up on Monday Beth
  17. Hi Doc, They’d only loose access to the online library on this site that has issues dating back to 2007, not the issues stored by them on the app or Pocketmags website. And yes, the magazine viewer issue has been resolved by the implementation of a new viewer. Beth Edited By Beth Ashby Moderator on 04/05/2019 14:12:13
  18. I'm completely with you... it doesn't make sense! It'd be worth having a chat with the subscriptions dept and seeing if there is anything they can do as they're the only ones who could issue a subs number. You can email them with an explanation and a link to this thread if its easier for you... [email protected] but just be aware, they can take a couple of days to reply. Beth
  19. Eric, Sorry I wasn't completely clear and yes, you're right, I meant that no subscription prevents you from accessing the back issue library.   Julian, As per my PM's, I have asked someone from the subs bureau to contact you, I've asked for an update again and will get back to you when I hear something from them.   Thanks Beth Edited By Beth Ashby Moderator on 03/05/2019 11:30:57
  20. Hi Mike, As Paul said, we do have a thread for all your subs enquiries here for any future queries but as I've caught this one, I will answer here. Yes we work with Pocketmags but any Pocketmags subscribers can only access their digital editions through the pocket mags app and website, it doesn't tie up with the archive on this website or any of the subscriber only content because they are a third party organisation. In order to access the archive, content on here and to be able to view the magazines on the pocket mags app, you'd need to subscribe through us. This can be done by cancelling your Pocketmags subscription and then re-joining through our subscriptions department who you can call to do this on 0344 243 9023. Although not the most simple of answers, I hope this answers your query okay! Kell, As a digital subscriber, you should be able to access the subscriber only topics. There could be a couple of explanations as to why you can't view them anymore. When you switched to digital only, you'd have received a new subscriptions number. Did you update this in your profile? If not, that would be a reason why you no longer have access. And again, same as the above, did you subscribe through us or Pocketmags? If you've updated your subs number and subscribed through us, let me know and I'll ask the bureau to look into it for you. Thanks Beth
  21. Hi Julian, I've send you a PM and chased the subscriptions department again for you. Will keep you updated as I am. Beth
  22. Posted by Mark Wilson 7 on 26/04/2019 10:43:55: If I buy a short term, digital/Print subscription, where is the digital part stored for viewing in the future when the subscription runs out? Hi Mark, You can view the digital issues on either pocket mags or here on the website, however you'd need a current subscription to view them as there is no option to save or download. Beth
  23. Hi Julian, I'm sorry that you haven't received a solid answer yet. I've asked one of the managers at the subscriptions bureau to look into this for you and they will be in touch today. Beth
  24. Hi both, Thanks for your comments. This is something that was already on my radar and our IT guy is currently working on a solution where you stay in the zoomed in view when you turn pages as before. Beth
