  1. There are several VQ warbirds available of about 60". They can be bought from Topmodel in France, a couple of German or Austrian suppliers. Some of them are also available from Hobbyking. All are good quality ARTF, and fly really well. Steve
  2. Rocker, if you go to rcgroups and look for Stuart Warne, he is the Durafly brand manager , email him using pm and he will sort you out. He has helped lots of people with their Durafly problems Steve
  3. I have a spektrum DX6 and learnt on an ST Models beaver. I live in Cornwall and fly on the lizard so plenty of wind. It was easy to repair from the inevitable crashes and I passed my A test with it. Now I am flying a seagull Spacewalker which is great and I have a seafury, but this requires 7 channels so I will be changing my 6 channel radio to 8 after only six months. My point is as stated above, if you want to fly warbirds get as many channels as you can afford to avoid replacement later. Steve
  4. Happy Christmas everyone and a calm and sunny 2016 Steve
  5. You could always try ADSL for a while and if you need more TT will upgrade to fibre. This is what we did and it was a pretty seamless experience. Steve
  6. We are 2mls from the exchange and were getting about 4meg with TT. We are now on fibre. While we were able to watch streaming video it wasn't always consistent and we did get some buffering. Have you considered fibre with TT, we are very happy with the service we receive at the moment. Steve
  7. How far are you from the exchange. This determines your speed. If you only get 27meg with fibre you may not get even 5meg with broadband, even if they are offering up to 17 meg. Steve
  8. Thanks, I will try this when the new lipos arrive. I wanted to increase the flying time of my ST Models Beaver without increasing the weight too much. I may try with the two different capacity lipos and if that work out OK ( in flying terms) I may try 2 2200mah lipos in parallel. Steve
  9. As the title suggests I would like to parallel a 2200 and a 1300 mah in parallel to give 3500 mah. Both packs are 3s 25C. Are there any reasons why this is not a good idea. For instance will both discharge at the same rate?. Any advice gratefully received. Steve
  10. The loss of signal occurred without the buddy lead attached. Also the contacts must be OK because the slave 6ex showed the correct voltage reading, which it gets from the master battery. Thank you all for your comments but I have returned the 6ex and bought a new Spectrum DX6. Steve
  11. Thanks for you input Phil. The fact that 2 Rxs were used and exhibited the same problem precludes a Rx problem The battery pack continued for the rest of the day with a 35Mhz system installed and performed faultlessly. I have agreed a refund with the vendor and am in the process of ordering a new RC system Steve
  12. The problem occurred when used alone not buddied. The voltage display was noticeably different between the master and slave when buddied, the master showing at least 1volt less than the slave and they are using the same battery. The aerials are placed according to the futaba manual, at right angles about 5inches apart. I cant think of a reason why there should be a loss of signal except a transmitter fault. Steve
  13. Thanks for all your comments. I will ring the seller and see where that takes me. Steve
  14. We swapped the Rx for a 35 Mhz Rx and Tx and everything performed perfectly for the rest of the day. It seems that the 6ex Tx is the problem. Steve
  15. The reading starts at 10.4v and drops to about 9.8 after a few minutes then stays reasonably stable for the next 30 minutes or so. I have seen on another USA forum several people saying their 6ex's show about 1volt less than the battery monitor reading. I just wondered if the loss of signal and diplay voltage could be connected. Steve
  16. While flying today (the first time with a second hand futaba 6ex 2.4) the model suffered 2 losses of signal and went into failsafe mode cutting the engine for about 1 second before continuing normally. Luckily the plane was quite high so my instructor was able to bring it in without damage, although on of the engine cuta happened on landing approach. We changed the receiver and the same thing happened. The Rx battery pack was 99% charged so this was not the problem. Also the battery voltage display on the Tx always reads 1v low. When the slave transmitter is attched with a buddy lead this Tx reads the correct voltage but the master Tx still reads 1v lower. The question is: are these 2 events connected, ie low voltage disply on Tx and loss of signal by Rx or is it just 2 separate problems. Further more is the voltage display really a problem or just an inconvenience? Any advise gratefully received Thanks all Steve
  17. Thanks again. I have checked and it was on high speed mode. I've changed it to normal and everything is hunky dory. This forum is awesome!! Steve
  18. Thanks Phil, not sure how to change any settings on the receiver, I haven't got a manual for it. I will have a look online. Steve
  19. I have a problem using a frsky TFR8 Rx with my futaba s3003s servos. All of the servos chatter as soon as the Rx is powered. This happens whether the Tx is on or not. The servos are not in a model, but this effect is replicated when the Rx id attached to similar S3003s in a model as well. This doesn't happen when the servos are used with my Futaba 617 Rx. Can someone explain what is happening and a possible cure, or should I just bin the TFR8? Thanks. Steve
