    BREXIT

On the BBC news Web page it gave you the feed back from around concerning the result of our democratic vote. One new paper headline was........ Great Britain give the world a lesson on Democracy. All I'm hearing in the media is the bleating of the those who the decision went against there beliefs. The democratic vote was to leave. Now people have to accept the result no matter how close the margin. I doubt if the remain camp would be complaining if the narrow margin was in favour of remaining. As for Scotland..,...2 years ago the people voted to remain part of the UK. That means they have to accept the UK referendum on June 23rd democratic vote to leave. You cannot pick and choose because the vote doesn't go your way. You have to accept the result of the democratic process. To do otherwise is........ Un-Democratic and the start of downfall of the civilised society as we know and live in.

    BREXIT

No Cameron has done the honorable thing. When in an elected position of power and your people vote against your recommendations, you must stand down as you have lost all credibility. I personally don't like the bloke but he has my utmost respect for doing the honourable thing. The Brexit result is one in the eye for the political elite in choosing to egnore and ride rough shod over the concerns of the population. Yes we're in uncharted teritory as there is a political movement starting to emerge

    BREXIT

Now that the Scots wont accept the result of the democratic process.......The time has come to give the rest of UK a referendum for Scotland to remain in the union.

  5. Fully agree BEB.. If the pilot wants to practice hovering, he puts measures in place not to endanger others. I'm sure most people don't mind bieng grounded for 10 min or so while the pilot shows off his/her skills. I've also seen dodgy pilots flying circuits and crashing in the pits I admire the better pilots, watch them intently and learn off them when I go to shows The problem is; Common sense is hard to come by........that's why I have a downer on clubs and prefer to fly with a mate or 2 at our own patch
  6. A pilot should always act in a safe manner as not to endanger othes or property It doesn't matter if the pilot is highly competent and can hover at the end of his ariel without issue! The problem is if something goes wrong that is not of the pilots fault and the time span it takes the model to come back on the pilot line. The further out the greater the reaction time for others to duck. Personally if I was flying and some half-whit decided to hover at the end of my nose I'd tell the offender to pack it in, if the pilot continued and took no notice I'd land and take matters into my own hands. ( Words chosen carefully as this forum doesn't subscribe to violent conduct ) This is another reason I shy away from clubs.
  7. 2.4 is not a dedicated frequently for modelers and is shared with other users........Basically it's a Junk channel That's the crux of the problem........why doesn't the modeler wake up to this fact It's like going back to the bad old days when illegal use of CB radios caused mayhem to the modeler The only dedicated channel we have (plane/Heli flyers) is 35 meg.........Use it or loose it.....I fear we will loose it because of this head in the sand ideology the 2.4 is the way forward, when it is clearly evident that there are serious issues with this unproven technology.
  8. Following this with intrest and feel that the disbelievers are trying to blame pilot error and won't accept system failure which is highly probable. Contributors are assuming if you get signal failure or signal corruption? Failsafe will kick in.......True I believe something more sinister is happening as it's clearly evident failsafe is not happening. If this is the case? The Rx must be suffering from complete power shutdown Digital servos when in transit can draw current spikes of 10A or more. Magnify this by the number of servos used ie in Garys case 3 off cyclic 1 off tail rotor + gyro, so could be drawing 40+A spikes. Maybe there is something in the Rx that thermally shuts down causing power loss to the Rx? But then re-sets itself when the temperature has dissipated? Mabe it may be wise to use a power box system to power the servos and isolate the Rx just to send the signal. The problem with this hobby is that the manufacturer can blame any component fault that may arise on the impact of the crash
  9. Is there simular threads like this one for other manufacturers of 2.4 systems.... guess not........Why?
  10. Welcome to the junk channel............. Big mistake stick to 35 meg
  11. Firstly ic engines aren't simple lumps of metal that are easy to manufacture as suggested. Infact they are quite the oposite where a complex metals manufacturing process made to exacting tolerances is required to produce the end product Secondly electric isn't the holy grail where noise is concerned. Some electric propulsion systems exceed the given noise limits but the ignorance of the modeller just shrugs his / her shoulders with gay abandon and mutters "it's electric so it doesn't matter"..........
  12. Interlectually challenged? Personally I don't like way the hobby is going with out of the box plug and play artf foamies etc. To me these are only merely toys and people treat them as such. With this mindset; I'm fearfull of the potential damage the end user may inflict on others. My only hope is that a percentage of these users will see the value of building / designing your own model. Electric does have its advantages but equally so does ic.
  13. An engine collector values and understand the beauty of the engineering behind such craftsmanship. I love collecting engines for the same reason. No one pokes fun at an art collector do they? To get the best out of an engine you have to develop an understanding / ear for how they run. Electric does have its advantages and any interlectually challenged person can wire up a motor and fly whereas the oposite could be said for operating ic engines. My engine bucket list. Laser Laser V twin OS Gemini OS Sirus Any multi cylinder Saito These engine in my view are engineering marvels to be drooled over.     Edited By Owdlad on 04/06/2016 08:37:53
  14. Another point to ponder, Scotland (SNP) Wants to break away from the Union and have its own sovereignty. And yet it wishes to be part of the European Union which by definition requires that you surrender your sovereignty to be governed by Europe..... confusing isn't it?
  15. Is the UK still a sovereign nation or has it surrendered it's sovereignty over to Europe?
  16. Absolutely agree I'm also an electrophobe and it does have its merits. But every now and again you can't beat stirring an engine to life especially in a scale model.
  17. Just bought a PAW 35 for my control line stunt. Also I have a pupeteer with PAW 60 fitted........absolute beaut to fly and not noisey at all plus that evocative smell as she does a slow low pass up/down the strip. Presently electric is all the rage ? But you can't surpass the sound of a well silenced ic engine fitted up front of a model.........It's the very essence of modeling
  18. Regard Magic. Sam has asked me to convey his sincere apologies as he is unable to attend this 'bash' or further events for the forseable future. He has sustained a very serious back injury by falling off some stepladders while fetching a model down from his loft resulting in a 7 night vacation in Hospital. He hopes to see you all at some point this season and hopes that everybody has an enjoyable day Owdlad
  19. Sam has asked me to post these images of his Magic that he will be bringing to this event. The model is fully kitted out. Engine, pipe, servos and Rohm Retracts. Its was built professionally some years ago and has been in storage for over 20 yrs. Offers will be accepted on the day if anybody is intrested in it. Sam says he's too many planes/ projects and would like it to go to a good home and hopefully see it fly at these events Edited By Owdlad on 05/05/2016 21:10:23
