  1. On the subject of smell, I run a three line setup on my models. At the end of the day I seal the two vent lines by connecting them together with a length of brass tube. I don't notice any smell in the car on the way home. I would be very tempted by a Laser petrol, I'd prefer to run it on the same mix as at least one of my existing engines which would rule out Aspen for me. The economy of petrol is appealing and I like being able to get some more whenever I like on the way to the field. If its any encouragement there's an increasing number of modellers at my club who are now flying petrol models, a couple of years ago I was pretty much the only regular petrol flyer. I expect its mentioned somewhere in this lengthy thread but what sort of oil ratio is used in the prototype? Cheers
  2. I too found my bottle of thin zap had lost all stickiness. So I bought a brand new little bottle, the new stuff wouldn't stick 2 bits of balsa together (or my fingers) either. Interested to hear it's not just me, perhaps a dodgy batch. I've lost confidence in the stuff which is a worry when so many hinges call for it. I tried canopy glue on some fuzzy hinges and it seems to have worked well. Cyano also started to give me headaches so I'm happy to banish it from the workshop. Steve
  3. Retracts can be a real pain on a rough patch. I'd buy a Gladiator, Bristol Bulldog or maybe a Hart (provided the struttery wasn't too complicated). 60 size would be good, could use one of the smaller petrols.
  4. I'm going to put an OS GT15 petrol on mine. Not finished putting it together but I'm fairly confident it will be a good match. On another model on a 14x4w APC it had a very similar performance to my os75ax. C of G may need batteries far back but we shall see.
