  3. I always use Deluxe RC Modellers glue for canopies and other plastic bits, works great, sets clear.
  4. Floaty, yes, it almost seems like it would benefit from a bit more weight but it actually handled todays blustery breeze quite well. It certainly has the look of a sloper, it should do ok off a hill in the right conditions.
  5. Managed to maiden the Pepper today with the cg at 60mm. Flew very nicely, I like it and confirms the error in the instruction manual. I used the power train / prop combo suggested by 4max in their recommended set ups. Wasn't too impressed to find only 200w but actually it is reasonably adequate. Might experiment with a bigger prop in due course though. The underside is silver, by the way. The missus chose the colour scheme out of my old spare solarfilm box so blame her if you don't like it. Not sure about the grabbing qualities of 30 year old Solarfilm adhesive so not sure how long it will last. I did use covergrip in strategic areas so might be OK

  8. Thanks David I'll adjust to your setting. I'm a bit surprised that Aero Naut haven't issued a correction after all this time considering how important c of g is. It would only take a slip of paper to be placed in the box. Anyway, I'm just waiting for a prop now so hoping to maiden this week. I'll post a pic in due course.
  9. Hi all, anyone out there got an Aeronaut Pepper? Just finishing mine and I have great doubt over the stated cg position. Booklet states 80 - 82mm from the leading edge, but that would put the cg at just under 50% chord - can't be right. I think it should be nearer to 60mm, can anyone confirm this please?
  10. Finally got to maiden my TN Gnat yesterday. Had the aileron movement too high at first, that got the heart pumping and the buttocks clenched, but once sorted it was really nice. Got away from the hand launch no bother at all.

  12. No problem Alan, my son is called Martin so I'm used to people getting the names crossed. David, I assume you are referring to the "Monkey" business? Well, here's another load of bull . More scope for horror (Taurus - horoscope, geddit?). I think this lock down is starting to get to me.
  13. Trim was all done with a Silhouette vinyl cutter Martin. Useful toy, still plenty of work to do to draw up the designs though.
  14. So here it is covered and trim applied. Needs the engine bay painting and the fitting out done, but getting near the end now. Not sure about the dark canopy frame colour, I might replace it with something lighter. I don't know whether the decoration will aid the visibility issue that Martin raised but I think it looks pretty anyway.
  15. A while ago I created a small memory jogger consisting of a couple of images laminated back to back and kept in my trannie case. The object was to confirm switch assignments etc. It was quite useful but being a lazy git I haven't carried it on for my other models yet.
  16. Nice quick work Martin. How far forward is the cg? Too far forward and you might run out of elevator. To move cg back you might consider shortening the nose because it is so short coupled that you might need a lot of lead to make any difference. Regarding movements it depends on how you like your responses but I would keep the elevator movements fairly large until you get the cg right, especially with it being a bit forward. Good luck with the maiden, hope you can still remember how to fly by then.
  17. Phil, forgot to say, I was there at Buckminster too. It did look nice in the air didn't it? Mine should be ready for whenever the next retro do takes place.
  18. I appreciate your thoughts guys but I'm committed now. The orangey yellow undersides are pretty bright and I rarely have a plane upright for long so I hope that will do. I used to have a Gangster 52 in a similar scheme that I could keep track of OK, but there again my eyes were younger. Will just have to wait and see. The long wing is a bit of a handful when covering but just one panel to go now.
  19. Hi Peter, the colours are white on top and a light orange (golden yellow) underneath. I'll bling it up with cut vinyl details. I have a picture in my head but it will no doubt change as the covering progresses. I'm a bit concerned about how much covering this thing is eating, I might run out.
  20. Sanding sealer and sanding all done so on to covering.
