  2. What a sad loss.. As a relative newcomer to this forum and recently returned to the hobby I have been looking around the site quite a bit reading older threads (catching up!). Dave's posts certainly stand out written with integrity, enthusiasm and witt... 'and firmness where necessary'. My condolences go to his family and friends RIP BEB
  3. Posted by Jason Rowlands 1 on 03/01/2019 13:50:06: James, I knew there were like-minded folks out there... suffering from a similar affliction. If you are still interested in getting hold of a Dragonfly kit I maybe able to help. This may make your day?? I'm constantly checking the net for old Cambria kits and have managed through quite a bit of effort to locate the majority of the old range except a few "holy grail" kits such as the Gnat, Slingsby Skylark and Kadet gliders. Here you go, check this website...Last time i checked they had a slinsby Eagle, Capstan andYES a Dragonfly... GOOD LUCK. If anyone needs plans, I may be able to make copies and get them posted. http://www.modellbauparadies.de/epages/Edi_sModellbauparadies.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Edi_sModellbauparadies/Products/1008-Schl%C3%BCter Blimey .. that looks like a proper model shop! shame its not in the UK. 5. It may be worth looking at gov.com for policies and procedures.
  6. Blimey.. Another one gone, that makes me sad ... I remember getting my wood n parts from them in the 70's. I bought my first engine from there an Enya 09 Having just got back in to aero modeling and although I no longer live in Nottinghamshire I had seen Gee Dee's advert and it was quite comforting to know that they were still trading. Bugger!
  7. Thanks Nigel Newby, is that really you in your avatar picture?
  8. PS hope the surgery goes alright Dave. I've just had a bit of that myself in the 'gonad' department, took a bit longer to recover than I anticipated.
  9. The foam board looks interesting, I can imagine using it in conjunction with wood n stuff
  10. The flowers are my touch my wife would throw them away given half a chance! There fake flowers by the way; (low maintenance!) unlike the wife!
  11. Thanks Alex Its good to get the essence of castor oil, nitro fuel and wood glues back in my life. (its good for my complection!)
  12. Hello all.. .I'm just getting back in to aeromodeling, I've not flown this century! but am about to get my fingers back on the sticks, Like many I cut my teeth on free flight keilkraft rubber powered kits in the 70's and some of my own designs and RTP. Got back in to it in the late 80's learnt to fly RC and I had the pleasure of teaching few people to fly back then too. Then got detracted by work etc I'm a traditional balsa basher I enjoy building and the satisfaction of that first flight with a new model. although its been a while now and I'm feeling a bit nervous getting back in the air so have restored an old Mick Reeves Hawk trainer with an OS 35 max I'll post pictures when I figure out how (I have a love/ hate relationship with computers!)
