  1. Thanks martian, I am quite pleased with the result, a little disappointed with the yellow (different shades on cowl/covering) even though I used the same base colour. Still working out how to get the inner gear doors fitted and working, I have a very positive idea that will keep me out of the house and in the garage for a little longer. Time to enjoy its presence in the air now 😊
  2. After returning to model flying to find that my 27 meg set may be a little outdated, I now have a turnigy i10 (aka flysky i10) and whilst it doesn't have a big brand name, I've used it for over 4 years without major problem. I have had to replace 2 gimbal springs, that's it. The receivers are inexpensive so I can have one for my many planes, has telemetry (but sadly no voice alerts), rock solid connection with no brown out (touch wood quick), excellent range and more mixes and conditions than I know what to do with and the touch screen GUI is very intuitive, but struggles in direct sunlight.
  3. Couldn't leave the post without showing the finished article
  4. That’s a shame Martian, I test flew mine today and it flies beautifully, the deviation from the plans was obviously not detrimental and the newly positioned undercarriage is strong enough. Time to get the paint out 🤗
  5. I've had mine on the wattmeter today and it's pulling just shy of 62a, 1390w and 21v with the 12.8 x 8.5, 4 blade varioprop, so no shortage of oomph! Overkill maybe, but it's easier to throttle back then get more than maximum 😉 5.5kg static thrust WOT rtf auw is 2.6kg. Expecting flight times of 8-9 minutes with the reduced/ managed throttle.
  6. Yours flown yet Martian? Mine should tomorrow evening, weather permitting. Once that's out the way, it's time to make it pretty
  7. Almost ready for the maiden, I have relocated the servos to reinforced tail area as it was coming up nose heavy on the 6s setup....
