  1. Thanks again everyone, don't really understand this electric stuff yet but definitely looks like a new motor and esc will be sourced soon
  2. Thank you very much for advice everyone, it is an original easy street which I only paid ?12.50 for not something I was looking for but too much of a bargain to turn down when it was only a few miles away. From your advice Persy the old brushed motors and esc will not work with the new style lipo battery??
  3. Hi, I have a part built flyboy in my attic that I am thinking of converting to electric, I had built the wing with full span strip ailerons and have recently cut the engine bearers to give enough space for a motor to slot between them and have cut out a ply firewall to fix the motor to. I have a 240watt brushless motor that I was thinking of using just because I have it and if it's not powerful enough I can always change it. Was thinking of a servo in each wing so the ailerons can also be used as flaps (flaperons) . Did you ever get yours flying Christopher?? P.S love the Hebrides, been up there surfing a few times , loads of good slope soaring spots as well
  4. Hi, I have just purchased a almost complete easy street off of eBay , it's missing prop and top and bottom hatches but is complete with what I think is the original motor and ESC. Is it worth just putting a lipo in it as it is or would it be better to change it to brushless straight away?? Will original set up work with lipo?? And any idea what prop I should use?? I'm new to electric flight having been out of the hobby for many years.
  5. Hi, I've just been looking at a fly boy in my attic that I started many years ago, I had modified the wing to ailerons and now I'm thinking of finishing is off but I too would like to make it electric powered any hints would be great as I have pretty much no knowledge of electric power

  7. Hi when using tissue covering I used to sanding sealer first 2 coats then sand smooth, wet the tissue then lay it on whatever I'm covering pulling it tight then apply cellulose thinners to the areas of framework which melts the sanding sealer and sticks it to the framework and as the tissue drys out it tightens. I used a sanding block with fine garnet paper stuck to it to remove the excess tissue by very lightly sanding around the edges. Two more coats of sanding sealer and a sand smooth gives a great finish and the I think I put a couple layers of dope to finish. This works great with sheet areas and framework
