  1. As I understand , the pack is 2s, therefore, I am told, that it would need the extra wire to charge. Can you explain. Bas
  2. Hi, I use the spektrum charger, assume thats OK. Leave on overnight. Bas
  3. Gary, are you sure about charging in situ?.What do you do about the balance lead?. Bas
  4. Can anybody tell me at what is the min' charge for a Overland 2000 mah (non Lipo) pack, that is safe to use please. Also what sort of time period I might expect. Mine charges up to 5.6 but drops rapidly to 5.3 once in use. It is new about a year ago. I was thinking about going Lipo but the battery needs to be taken out to charge. I expect comments on this subject can be quite diverse. Thanks in advance. Bas
  5. Leccy'. I thought that we were talking about building boards . What piece of kit are you referring to?. Surely when using the jig you are not building over the plan, I am puzzled. I must be off course some where.Bas
  6. Toto, tape your plan down with masking tape, ( uses a weaker adhesive than cellotape, then cover with cling film. the cling film will stop most adhesives sticking to the plan.I to am a novice , well I was a couple of years ago. This really does save your plan and leaves the build materials clean. Bas
  7. Been having a look around; I was about to say just seen the same,So have deleted the originall contents of this post. Many thanks for your widom and time. Bas .
  8. Hi Leccy, like your sense of humor. Ok I get the drift,,,,,, A large tip is required. But what irons have large tips, I cant find any that say that. So,,,, its over to person or persons that are able to suggest an iron/s. please . Descriptions for most say ' Comes with a non replaceable bit'. Bas
  9. I have a Weller.the instructions say that you should only use it for 5secs every minute. Just does XT60's,( But have to some what ignore the time request) but does take a few seconds to heat up, just starts to effect the plastic. I would like to purchase a suitable iron, but so far I cant see any suggestions been given the thumbs up. What about some suggestions!!!! Bas
  10. Hi Phil, you are obviously alive and doing well. I installed that switch into a large model, Hannibal. It is simple and works well. I cant vouch for its reliability, but you are in a better position than I. The problem is that Hannibal is a big plane and requires a lot of room in the car. For various reasons it has not really been flown but has had visits to the field. the switch has survived thru' hours of testing/setting up. Its a thumbs up from me. It is more convenient than a Plug type device, that I normally use.Thank you for your time and effort. Bas
  11. Thank you all for your contribution, lots to think about. Bas
  12. Simon, a misunderstanding; re the 'Up trim' I did not mean it to sound like that.I mean the act of trimming not to apply up!!!. Yes they should when trimed corrctly fly straight and level etc, but these wont fly the same. Bas
  13. Hi, I am a novice here but am somewhat puzzled at a particular situation. I have more than one version of a particular electric model known for its stability etc.they have the same motor/Lipo combination, but they all 'Trim up ' differently. The dimensions seem the same. The only difference is one is a tail dragger the other a tricke u/c.The CG is the same but the tail dragger needs large amount of lead in order to fly trim up.( By a senior club member). I am in the throws of weighing the individual components and checking wing balance etc. Has anybody have any comments. Bas
  14. I am trying to repair some crash damage to a foam wing. that has been stripped of its heat applied foil covering down to the 'Veneer' .It is necessary to fill some areas with polyfilla type product , as suggested by some forum members. In certain areas , mainly where the filler is in thin coverings cracking / loss of adhesion has been noticed. Is there anything that can be applied to it's surface in order to concilidate the filler, as being a wing it under goes flexing etc.The wing is to be recovered with heat sensitive film. Bas
  15. Leccy, mine is not one of the latest, I think you have a modern DX7. There does not appear to have a heading for channel allocation in the TX handbook. There is reference to 'switch select', but it only seems to cover, trainer/Fmode/gear/flap/knob. I will speak to some one at the club and see if any of the spektrum users can shed any light. I have checked my trainer installation and it conforms to the TAER order.I set it up by making/breaking connections rather that follow the notes that I had made. So there is no need to panic over what I thought had happened. What I cant fathom out is where I got the original note re the order from.It came from the internet somewhere. TAER I will have to remember , I think I will after this. Many thanks to you and those of you that replied. thanks. Bas.
  16. Leccy, I havea DX7s, I cant find a 'Channel assign' on mine.I have been thru' the hand book and there does not appear to be an option that corresponds.I will have to check the actual model set up and report back.Bas
  17. Leccy, mine is a DX7S, I cant find channel assign in that option.Bas
  18. ALL, jsut tested my unused AR620, the one in question. It corresponds to the default of TAER.I can only suppose that the other one in use follows an alternative, I will dig the model out and check. I was not aware of the anagram TAER. I have learnt another vital piece of information.Sorry to have clouded the issue. Bas
  19. Don, I dont know the first thing about channel swapping. Please see my comments just made re; TAER defaults. Bas
  20. hello, I was unaware that their was a default value!!.This puts things in a completely different prospective. I dont know where my original designation came from .. I will check out one of my AR620 outputs and report back. the values I have been taking as normal are on an RX in everyday use on my trainer.??? Bas
  21. Leccyflyer, It does not matter which channel you use, its the same. I have stated this earlier. The channel uses I have differ from yours.(AR620) Batt ESC Rud Elv Ail Gear Flap I cant remember where I got these but I have another AR620 and the channel uses correspond to the above.!!! I think those you have given are for the AR600 version, but thats a suggestion only!!!!! I will have to check your values against the values I have. Thanks Bas
  22. It was bought new. It has never flown but been used to set up various models previously without incident. Bas
  23. I will try and see what the Tx memory has in store. I have not got any idea what to look for, I am not exactly techno. I am only just learning about all of the aspects of the TX's that are usable. I have made no attempt to adjust the various options that are available .I have tried using a different channel set up but still the same. This would indicate that it is the RX. BasBas
