I can’t access it on my iPhone 6 or iPad on WiFi (used to be no problem) , I can access it on 4g, so what can have changed on WiFi?, I haven’t done anything to it!

Colin’s Spanish Fury
Ken Lighten replied to Colin Leighfield's topic in Hawker Fury Mk 1 - RAF's Finest Biplane!
I’m starting to think there might be a few too many design changes and ensuing problems just to achieve a colour scheme!, think I’ll go with plan B which is the 43 sqn 1938 Munich crisis with the black and white lower surfaces and camouflage, of course, that could change! Ken -
Colin’s Spanish Fury

Hi Colin, I’m thinking of doing a Spanish one as well, have you any thoughts as to how you are going to do the landing gear? I’d like to have some form of shock absorbance that won’t detract from the scale look of the main legs to much Ken -
I suppose it is new! Bargain Edited By Ken Lighten on 25/06/2018 09:40:35

As an aside, my avatar is/was another slightly enlarged plan for a forward swept wing slope soarer (Predator?) that I modified to take a .25, all I did was to make the wing section a symmetrical one using the top surface of the original as a pattern, the original had fixed canards (I think) which I dispensed with due to the tank etc, again, the balance point would have been as per the plan and it flew superbly, I also added a rudder and could knife edge relatively well, can’t remember what happened to it but I know I didn’t scrap it. I reckon I must have got lucky!, might do another now thinking about it.

Bob, nope! 😁

I built an enlarged ‘Bit’ of about 55” span many moons ago (before computers made that sort of thing easy!) and it flew brilliantly (till I forgot up is down when inverted!) and didn’t seem too twitchy at all, balance point would have been as per the original plan and any reflex was purely on the elevons. The wing section was quite thick if I recall correctly

Hi all, thought I’d put a shout out for an excellent quality 1/4 scale laser cut kit of the SE5a that I’ve put on EBay should anyone be after that type of thing - listing here Ken Edited By Ken Lighten on 13/05/2018 20:04:51

Pegasus Models Hornet - HWDMAC Winter Build 2018
Ken Lighten replied to Brian Seymour's topic in Build Blogs and Kit Reviews
The trick with ‘T’ nuts is to use a bolt and a spacer or washer to draw the nut into position rather than using clamps I’m in the middle of building mine at the moment and had to cut the rear deck off as, when aligning the wing, I found that I had managed to build a banana even though I’d used a fuselage jig which must be some kind of achievement! - successfully rescued thankfully Enjoying the build even with my errors and following your group build Ken -
Should be OK, on RCscalebuilder.com lots of builders use it on their 1/4 scale models with excellent results, I’ve used it on smaller electric models covered with Litespan Ken

Hand painting rounders is not as difficult as you might think Use a compass like this (loads on fleabay, you can get a whole set for a few quid) the paint line created acts like a dam and is easy to paint up to. Use a bit of scrap ply at the centre of the rounded to protect the surface. I used normal household paint in tester pots from B & Q that work a treat. Practice on a bit of card first to get the ‘feel’ for it Ken

What on earth are these ???
Ken Lighten replied to Stuphedd's topic in Model Engineering and Accessories
I hadn’t either Peter, till I left and went to a private company where we had our own tools (all changed now as tool control in those days was a bit iffy to say the least) all sorts of things were impressed into use by intrepid fitters -

I used to have a set of these for pitching rivets in a row for repair work on full size aircraft, speeded things up a bit when marking out -
Fury build Hi Jon, hopefully the above link will work, if not then it’s the RCscalebuilder website and the Hawker Fury mk1 build in ‘scratch builds’ Ken

Been following his build on RCscalebuilder forum, amazing workmanship on the metalwork

Is there a foam safe CA that available in ‘normal’ shops?
Ken Lighten replied to Ken Lighten's topic in Foam models
I tried the ‘Instant Bond’ sold in the same 2g tubes on some scrap hoping it would be the same as the ‘functional’ but it desolves the foam Ken -
