  1. Cuban8, Wow that is excellent. A step by step guide, which is ideal for the absolute beginner and full of useful tips for the more experienced. Cheers Steve
  2. Is this the Sky 40? I can not see any problem as the wings have not been sheeted.
  3. Like I did on the Ballerina. For some reason I did not think it would work, over thinking it I think. Just waiting for glue to dry then add the fairing blocks. It's full steam ahead now or should that be full throttle now? Cheers Steve
  4. Thanks Bob. Next on the list is filling in this gap. Marking out on a piece of scrap 1/4" balsa then cutting out, leaving a margin of error. Next is working out the side fillet shape. Cheers Steve
  5. My thoughts exactly Peter. Glued up now. Cheers Steve
  6. Looking at 4-Max recommendations I would go for the PO-3547-960 but use a 4s lipo for the extra power compared with 3s. Cheers Steve
  7. Posted by James Humphreys 1 on 10/11/2020 19:50:23: Ok so the problem is this I'm building a sky 40. Now in the manual it recommends a axi4120/14 which is 660kv So on the 4max site the equivalent is only 595kv but the sky 40 setup on the 4max site suggests a motor of 960kv. so I'm a little confused as to what I should use. The axi4120/14 which is 660kv and the 4Max equivalent 595kv are for 5-8s lipos. The 960kv is for 3-4s lipos. Obviously the prop sizes will be different. Cheers Steve
  8. More progress. I tried to follow Trevor's advice regarding choice of balsa but all my stock is the same so I had to use what I had. Looking at the elevator now and wondering whether to make it open frame or not as there looks to be very little to gain by doing so. Cheers Steve
  9. Rudder! Tailplane next. Cheers Steve
  10. Thanks Bob, I bought 4-Max 4M 100 AMG 022 for the wings. I had two HS 81MG servos lying around and used them for elevator and rudder. Cheers Steve
  11. Continuing with the rudder this morning. Just waiting for the glue to dry before I turn it into a swan with the aid of sandpaper, I hope. Cheers Steve
  12. FF that is sad news The fin did not look very good, using scrap made it look tatty. I gave it a bit of sanding and the ugly duckling turned into a swan. I started on the rudder. That's enough for today. Cheers Steve
