From the Jensen Plan
The L/E is 3/8 square and not very rounded.

Impressive installations and advice here ?
I learn something new everyday ?

Yes just screw them in and they self tap. To be absolutely sure of what type of snake you have a photo would be helpful. But on second thoughts
It must be one of these
-
That's the way I read your query Basil.
I use a 2mm thread adapter that screws into the inner say half way then a clevis for the horn/servo arm
I have used ball joints here but any 2mm clevis will work.
Extenders are here
M2 and M3 Brass Extender £1.69 (4-max.co.uk)
Just as an example.

Basil,
It depends on the type a snake you are using. Can you post a photo?

I was wondering if the PSU, being so close to the tail, had caused the fire but obviously not if it still works. The battery is no where near the fuselages but again the photo was taken at a different time.
I think too much which can make me a pain, so I have been told.

Hi @Dad_flyer
A flat wing stik flies fine. I built the Jensen 62" with a flat wing no problem. I have a HK Crusader stik again a flat wing and again no problem. When I was researching the Stik I went right back to Phil Kraft's, design and build article, and I believe his original was a flat wing. I think Jensen introduced the dihedral probably to appeal to those wanting a trainer. I have an old 1990? 50" stik with veneered foam wings with dihedral weighs 6.5 pounds and also flies like it is on rails.
I am a fan of the stik to the point I bought a VQ Giant Stick and Saito FG21 to go in it just before the first lockdown so it has not flown but yes it has a flat wing,
Now thinking about it the only stik with a dihedral was the Jensen which is why I thought hmm he is trying to appeal to the trainer market, for which it was ideal.
My 62" weight 5.5 pounds and power is a 3548 900kv on 4000mAh 4S with a 12x6 prop.
What power set up are you using?
I thought I had missed one from my list.
How could I forget that one ... it's an age thing! ?

David,
I have been following along out of interest, I was looking at the photo of the two fuselages at first I could not work it out but then realised that they are hanging on the wall, then it made sense. Is that the PSU under the Big Guff tail and the charger just on the edge of the photo? I was just wondering what happened to them?
Just curious...

Yes keep the speed up on landing, fly it in. When I built it I had not learned that, as my trainer was a Riot, now I know better. What is interesting is that I could not understand why it fell out of the sky when a couple of feet above ground, so I parked it up. Now I have renewed enthusiasm for flying it.
Sometimes answers come from unexpected directions. ?
-
The worst time for that to happen is when you flare as you come in to land.
?
Thanks @Nigel Rthat could explain why I keep ripping the undercarriage out of the Jensen Stik, the leading edge is quite sharp as the design uses 1/4" at 45 degrees. I must check this out before we get flying again.
Interesting.

I wondered why you mentioned duct tape and why the laptop in the background. Then I caught on ?
-
Sorry I was not suggesting you would be flying.
I was wondering what ground testing you would be doing and assumed it would be with a watt meter.
That motor is rated at 540 watts and I was wondering what watts you measured purely as a comparison.
Just out of interest... anyway you made me laugh ?

When you say tested do you mean with a watt meter?

I bought a Taranis for precisely this application, which also gave me telemetry. I just followed the advice given by club mates as it was my first glider.

You are welcome Peter if you need any more help with this just ask.
A way to get someone's attention is by using the @Peter Garsden naming convention. Which by now you will have received.
Obviously for me @EarlyBird and the same for everyone.

Taranis is what I have thanks ?
-
Gary,
That all makes sense and ties up nicely with the data sheet supplied with the module (with dial) and the one on the website (without dial) which we have and rated at 9v.
We are good to go then? ?
-
Now that's got me worried.
Looking at the jumper web site
Multi-protocol Module | jumper-rc (jumper-rc.com)
6-9v looks better and more plausible as the module is designed to fit the Taranis which has a max 8.4v IIRC.
Who to believe?
Not to worry I will just keep using it.
Just looked at the data sheet that came with the module and the picture shows the module with the dial on the back. Mine does not have the dial, wrong data sheet? The above specification is for the module I have, again looking at the pictures on the web site.
Now I am happy to keep using it.
?
-
I have just checked my spec sheet and it is 7v max.
The module connects to the Tx and the Tx regulates the battery, surely. I am therefore thinking that the voltage at the module connector is not the battery voltage but a lower regulated voltage. Anyone fancy testing this theory with a volt meter?
Just a thought....

Peter on the menu bar there is content I started.
Is that what you are missing? I don't understand what you mean when you say forums.
