FlySky binding question
Terry Plumridge 1 replied to Terry Plumridge 1's topic in Other Radio Brands
Thanks Max, I think you may have hit the nail on the head !! Cheers, Terry. -
Tx FS-16X Rx FS-IA6B I have two of these Rx. One came with the Tx already bound. Used on a Paramotor, works fine. I bought a second Rx, for a glider, bound it to the same Tx, works fine. When I want to use the Paramotor I have to rebind it, is that normal? I always thought that it was possible to have multiple Rx's bound to the same Tx. Could be showing my lack of understanding ?

How to check if brushless motor is OK to use.

The winding insulation looks as though it has melted in places, so not going to chance it for the sake of a 16 euro replacement, but thanks for the advice. -
How to check if brushless motor is OK to use.
Terry Plumridge 1 replied to Terry Plumridge 1's topic in Motor Discussion
Hi PatMc. I was flying a Para Motor, it stalled and one or two lines tangled with the prop and stalled the motor. I hit the dead stop switch I had set up on the Tx, obviously not soon enough. Have decided to buy a new motor to be on the safe side. -
I assume "CW" means clockwise. does that mean the motor only runs clockwise? Cheers, Terry.

I have a brushless motor that has been in close proximity to an exploding ESC that caused a small fire. There is no obvious visual damage to the motor. My question is, is it possible using a multimeter to ascertain the condition of the motor. If so, how? I don't want to damage a new ESC. Cheers, Terry.

What is i-BUS please?
Terry Plumridge 1 replied to Terry Plumridge 1's topic in General Radio Discussion
Thanks for the replies. -
From the Flysky manual, " i-BUS Setup. This function is used to set up the i-BUS module. The i-BUS module can be used to add servos to your model that may be too far away from the receiver" Don't servo extension leads do that?? I guess I am missing something here.?

Overseas purchase
Terry Plumridge 1 replied to Bill Reed's topic in R/C Retailers / Distributors / Manufacturers
I am thinking of ordering from Hobby King, EU warehouse, to my address in Austria. Hobby King clearly state that their prices do not include VAT so I will have to pay that, fair enough. But will there be other charges such as import duty. It is coming from a EU warehouse to an EU address ! I appreciate that many of you are no longer in the EU but may have past experiences from the pre brexit days. Thanks, Terry. -
Hi Martin, a model, haven't got the funds or courage for a full size!! Hi Capt. K. Thanks for the info.
-
Just to clarify I live in the EU but the CAA and EU rules look to be pretty much the same. I know it is reatively easy to get the necessary qualifications that are now needed, but I would be tested in German. Not so easy for me. I am just thinking if Paramotors are included, they are not drones or airplanes.

Does this legislation cover Paramotors?

Hi all, sorry for late reply. Thanks for all the advice, still pondering on what is best for me. All the best, and have a Happy Xmas, so far as it is possible.

Hi all. Looking for some advice on the best electric trainer for me. About me. I am 73 years old, I live in Austria out in the sticks, flat countryside everywhere. Back in 2000 I was flying a Heli, but didn't get much further than hovering and simple maneuvers. Kit building is not so easy with my limited resources, and transport on a motorbike is also an issue. At the moment I am considering a Multiplex Easy Star, or a Xeno, both will go on my bike boxed. I am aware of the basics, join a club, get the model trimmed by an experienced flyer etc. I would be grateful for any suggestions regarding model choice. Cheers, Terry.

Thanks Ken, that sounds relatively easy. How is the remote cell connected if the original is still in place? Just for interest I bought mine in 2000. I had it set up for a heli, all of the settings are still there. Just as a check I programmed another aircraft in the memory with a delta wing mix, all working properly!! But better safe than sorry. Cheers, Terry.

Just about to ask the same question. I too have a Jr XP652. I am checking it over after 18 years in storage. Everything seems in order. Reading through the manual it mentions a lithium cell but I opened the case and cant find it. What does it actually do? If it needs to be changed can you please give me some guidance. Terry.

Rx and ESC compatability?
Terry Plumridge 1 replied to Terry Plumridge 1's topic in General Radio Discussion
Hi all, thanks very much for your replies, very helpful. Cheers, Terry. -
I would like to use my old 35 MHz gear, a JR XP 652 Tx with a JR R700 Rx. I am buying a Multiplex Xeno with the motor, servo, ESC combo. The ESC is a BL-20-SD, the servos Tiny-MG. My question is, Is this modern equipment going to work OK with my 20 year old Rx. I have checked out my radio gear, internally it is like new, no black wire etc. and it is range checked. Thanks in advance, Terry.

Greetings from Austria

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome. @ Andy. Plenty of snow up in the mountains. Where I live it is very low and flat, had our first snow last night, about 5 cm. Cheers, Terry. -
Hi everybody, My name is Terry, an Englishman living in beautiful Austria. I am returning to model flying after a 20 year absence, used to fly (nervously) helis. In between times I have built and sailed model boats. I will be flying a Multiplex Xeno, again nervously, at least to start!! I am sure I will have questions to ask. Cheers, Terry.
