  1. What do these batteries actually do? I have an old JR set that has been laying idle for the last 22 years, just fired it up and all seems OK. Cheers, Terry.
  2. Thanks for all the replies, @ Jonathon, Success!! Cheers, Terry
  3. Thanks Jonathan, will try that. Cheers, Terry
  4. Thanks Ernie, now I understand ! Cheers, Terry
  5. Could somebody please explain what this is. I have a wing with a lower angle of attack at the tips, but both wingtips are not equal, one is slightly more pronounced than the other. Is that likely to be a problem in the air, bearing in mind that I am still learning to fly. It is a Rudder Elevator Throttle model, the Aeronaut "Shorty". Any help appreciated.
  6. One that I built earlier. Balsa hull, inline skate wheels, Ali section.
  7. Many thanks for all of your replies. My Lipo decided to voluntarily retire this morning. Due to a catastrophic encounter with Terra Firma it is severely damaged and no longer usable, but as usual everytime you post there is always something new to be learned from your answers. Cheers, Terry.
  8. 3S Lipo, 1800mah,35C. Interal resistance of 10.7 3.9 and 5.3 milli ohms. No damage or swelling. Is it time to bin it? Thanks, Terry.
  9. Thanks Simon. I am a beginner but successfully doing controlled circuits and landings with an Easy Star. Self taught and a lot of simulator time. Model clubs, in Austria, too expensive for my pension. Maybe I will try to create something, I have everything that I need, and it will be a winter project. Cheers, Terry.
  10. Interesting idea. In my working life I designed and built automated assembly machines, but creating an aircraft that actually flies??? 🤣
  11. I realise that this is a very open ended question, but a little advise would be welcome. I have lying around a !0A 2-3s ESC, a 28mm Dia. 2300kv motor, and a 6 x 3 inch folding pusher prop. I would like to put them to use, but really have no idea which aircraft size to go for. Ideally something relatively simple that can take a few knocks and can tolerate light winds. I would prefer to build from plan as opposed to buying a kit. Any help would be most appreciated. Cheers, Terry.
  12. From a local (Austrian) Buy/sell website. Has anyone ever seen one of these built and running? Cheers, Terry. https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/quarter-scale-merlin-v12-gussteile-bausatz-758726641
  13. Does a 3 blade prop produce more thrust than a 2 blade ? Same Dia. same pitch, same R.P.M.
